Confused. Which transgo shift kit is right??
FITS: 4T65E 97-08 "Including Volvo 4T65E" NOTE: TipTronic units SK 4T65E Kit will work except for Boost Valve assembly.
I think the boost valve is in the valve body and I didn't remove that. Seemed to firm up the shift a little. Lots of people on here have Transgo, someone will probably chime in who knows more. Easy install. Good luck
So will the sonnax boost valve work in a GXP with tap shift?
Is boost valve necessary?
Is there any other parts I should be ordering with the kit?
Thanks in advance for any help. Been researching for hours and not finding the answers I'm looking for.

The kit for reference: http://shop.tripleedgeperformance.co...e-Kits_c10.htm
I found a local shop that seems knowledgeable about these transmissions and is kind of skeptical of what Dave has to offer. They're essentially saying that there's nothing too special about what he's including in this base kits.
If I bring them the transmission out of the car and the parts, they'll charge me 5 hours of labor at $75 per hour.

As far as whether or not what he does is "special" or not, thats a matter of opinion. Aside from the 300M input shaft, all of the other parts from the line pressure booster kit, to shift kit, and the borg warner high energy frictions and upgrades to the input clutch pack clearances, billet apply pistons, and 7/8" chain drive upgrade, all have been around for quite a while through transmission parts suppliers. I bought his stage 1 kit along with the 7/8" drive chain set and 3.29 gears from him just because its such a comprehensive kit that supplies EXACTLY what i was looking for in a high performance build. The borg warner frictions and steels are far superior to the raybestos zpack from everything I have been told by local trans shops and through my own research, so you can expect that anything you buy from him transmission wise will be of the utmost highest quality.
Here's a pic of the stage 1 kit and chain drive upgrade, my trans is actually at my local shop now getting all of these parts installed.

I installed the shift kit and cooler two weekends ago and after a few days, the temps started climbing again. I saw 255°F before I parked it. My torque converter is shot, so while I'm in there, I'd like to make it somewhat bullet proof for my rather modest engine aspirations.
