Default LS4-to-6T75 Adapter Plate

As the title states. Who would be interested in such a thing.

If I get enough people interested then we can get some made. There would be more things related to this swap to come of course.

I assume the 6T75 is a better tranny? Factory installed in what?

The 6t75 gives you 6 speeds. A way more usable PowerBar and should be able to hold most ls4s power with no issues. The power limits have yet to be explored on this transmission though. And the interface needed for the t43 vs our t42 trans controller would also be a factor as well with potentially easy solutions.

I'd love to have the six speed but again with no starter provision and uncertainty id think it'd be more beneficial to have a standard LS block architecture plate made. Grab a truck motor swap in your crank or have that one machined and have fun in your 5.3 5.7 6.0/6.2 liter beast

Any one played with a 6T80 yet? Suppose to be same casing but beefed up and rated to handle higher torque than 6T75...

Correct, as seen in the XTS Vsport. However, that is AWD, probably expensive due to its limited use, and I cannot find much information on it.

The 6T75 is alive and well behind an LS2 engine in a Fiero. It's been that way for two years now. In that aspect, the programming is complete. In fact, a new module is out there that would interface with our BCM. That means gears "5" and "6" would show up on our DIC and HUD in TAPshift mode.

Starter is taken care of and I am close to getting the template for that.

Axles, mounts, and shifter cable already exist for the 6T70 for the W-body Impala. Transaxle lines are straight forward.

If anyone could take care of this right now, it'd be bfurches.

So if anyone has any interest, let me know.

Large crossover vehicles (GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse) and a Fiero with an LS2.

What are you doing for a starter provision then? I have a 65 case I'm going to sacrifice to use starter boss to weld onto an 80 case... Once I'm moved into the new shop!

Wasn't the fiero using a complete standalone trans Co troller?

This is very interesting, sounds like you have been doing a good bit of homework on this. Good job.

I'd be interested in this.
Not sure how much the 75's and controllers go for these days?

Screw the 4T80. Are you still in South Florida?

There's a pocket in the 6T75 for a starter and the adapter plate will have a gap provisioned for the starter.

Yes. A standalone controller is needed with the T43 since it's within the valve body of the transaxle. This standalone controller interfaces between the stock T42 and the T43 within the transaxle.

I got my 6T75 for ~$750 a few years ago. I believe the controllers are within the $800 range, maybe more.

Cheaper than a 4t65 rebuild!

Sounds like the only road block now is fabrication. Bfurches and x11nut seem like the guys to do this!

1st gear will be very interesting lol

I'd be very interested in seeing both the 4T80 & 6T75 become viable swap options!! The 80 would be more straight forward if / when I get the mounts sorted out, as it wouldn't need a separate controller.

GXP25, I'll hit ya offline and see what we can work out.

Cheers

As far as I'm aware and after speaking to the owner of that site a few years ago, that's not the controller we'd want.

Has any progress been made on one of these swaps?

Thanks!

Also curious to know what a starter replacement would entail if this swap was done.
