strange noise

Default strange noise
On cold starts. My car makes a rattle noise like metal taping together. Listen closely and can hear a very slight tap. But when car is warm. And I have drove around for a while . It doesn't make the sound. Sounds like maybe lifter ??

What is the mileage? Do you know the maintenance history? Is it stock? Could be a lifter, lots have some sort of initial start up tap. Could be a cold piston knock also.

Do your self a favor , get a louder exhaust, i dont have any noise :x , other then blub,blub,blub

It's at 135,xxx but I've had it since it had about 50,000 miles on it. Oil changes always come on time. It's pretty much stock other than intake and exhaust work. Just making sure it's nothing serious

If it goes away after warm up, i eould not worry about it. Now if it was ticking after warm up etc,then id worry

mine does that as well, it only does it for a second or two. i was thinking its a heat shield or the starter isnt pulling back quickly enough.

yeah its short. you should hear a rattle after the startup.

i dont think its lifters its more of a rattle noise. i'll get a video of it from the front so the exhaust doesnt drown it out.
