Default ZZP rear sway bay

Anyone actually buy or have experience with this bar?

They claim its the same diameter as the stock rear GXP bar which is used on many other w body variants... but they claim its proven stronger.

Anyway... its painted red... which will go very nicely with my new BMR suspension that just showed up a couple days ago...

Doesn't seem like an upgrade at all for a GXP. Check out Addco 639 rear solid bar(7/8 or 22mm). They had a bigger bar 2179 for the rear that was hollow an 25mm, but that bar is hard to find. Any bar can be painted red, too much red will make it look rice in my opinion.

I just recently emailed Jegs and Summit Racing about the Addco 639 rear Sway Bar and both of them said they do not have it in stock.

It would be great if someone had it available. I was looking for it as well.

Just use the link for Addco above and go thru the list of vendors, someone should have it or can get it. You could post on some of the other wbody forums if really persistent on finding one.

Ebay says Jegs has it.

So I bought the ADDCO 639 7/8" through jegs on ebay back on April 4... I inquired just the other day asking if any chance of an availability update and they replied saying they are going to cancel my order... after holding my money and my time/interest for over three months LOL.

So basically... I missed the boat is that right? no one makes a better than stock rear sway bar anymore for this platform...

I'd literally pay commission if someone could locate me a new bar.

I emailed the guys over at neverenoughauto.com about the rear sway bar, and was told they have to "special order" it from addco. It will take a month for the part to arrive. Addco only makes the bars upon ordering request. Hope this helps!!! The bar #639 is on $160 shipped to your door.

I emailed Addco direct, I still had the email when I inquired about 2179 the bigger bar and was told it is out of stock and discontinued. I will post what they say about 639.

Edit. Received email back from sales and they said 639 is still available. I guess if it is wanted you have to wait.

For the gxp, try to dig up a set of the rear strut tower brace. Made a solid improvement

It made a huge difference you are right... I'm hoping the ADDCO sway bar will give me a bit less squat under throttle.

It s be several months since I ordered the ADDCO... apparently they are telling me they are making one so I guess I'll see.

If you want less squat, look for a set of GTO spring blocks, they may help and are relatively cheap. From a GTO

From a newer Camaro

This site has lots of vehicle specific forums. Since they came in shipping on Camaros, GTO's and the newer SS try posting in the wanted sections or start a question post from those forums as they are actually active compared to this.

Placed an order through neverenoughauto.com last week for the 639 sway bar. Customer service is pretty good. Bar should be arriving tomorrow..CANT WAIT!!!

* Has anyone has this issues with the BMR trailing arm????
It seems the brass collar that holds the bushing together is too small for the bolt. Someone please chime in... waiting on response from LMperformance.

I have them, fits fine just add some anti seize to the bolt and give it a good tap with a hammer. I had to add washers to one side to prevent rubbing as these are straight but the factory have a small offset . Do a search for my post on them and you will see. Good luck

Installed 639 swaybar today. Didn’t use the sleeve collars. Vehicle feels very neutral/balanced now. I wish I would’ve installed this bar the day I bought the car.

Exhaust needs to hang for proper installation
639 bar is way stiffer than factory bar

No sleeve collars used. I greased the bushing

Nice install and thanks for following up with pics.. What do you mean exhaust needs to hang? Are the supplied bushings poly?

unhook the mufflers from the hanger brackets to install the bar. The addco bar is different in design compared to factory. Yes the bushings are poly. Im planning on taking the bmr trailing arms off. The rear is way too stiff with the 639 sway bar and bmr bar paired together.

FYI- Addco sent me 2 639 swaybars. I'm selling the spare one if anyone is interested.
