1/8 mile speeds

1/8 mile speeds Does anyone have an idea what your 1/8 mile speed is? Has anyone got close to 90 mph? The reason is at an 1/8 mile drag event I glanced at my speedo and it said 90 mph. I was blown away by this so I checked the next run and it was between 88 and 89 so close to 90 mph. The slowest I ran was 84 and 85 mph which were the first couple of races. We were running on an airport runway on a 60 degree evening. I got told I was full of bs on an import forum.
I think they were mad that the SS would hand them there rear. Or the length of the strip was slightly longer than an 1/8 mile. The event was just for fun no times were recorded.

My impression is that the track is much longer than 1/8 mile to let you guys have a bit more "fun"

I didn't think it was either. When I first lined up I thought this looks longer than an 1/8 mile, but who am I to argue. It was fun getting to race without worrying about a speeding ticket. I am planning a trip to Quaker City speedway in Ohio to get official times and speeds in the 1/8 and 1/4 mile. Thanks for the input.

Those speeds are in line with other stock LS4 cars I have seen. Thanks for the info. I 'm sure mine is right around there somewhere. I am planning on taking the SS to the dragstrip in august. The only set back is I am finding a few drops of oil on the bottom of the oil pan. I must have a bad gasket on the firewall side of the motor but I can't locate it. The drops are not even making it to the floor so its not bad but do I push it by racing it?
