The biggest obstacle I see to using the LS4 in a RWD application is the starter. The FWD GM bellhousing does not allow the use of a large diameter flywheel, so I am pretty sure you cannot use a traditional block-mounted starter. The LS4 uses a transmission mounted starter with the 4T65. Unless you can do the same thing with the RWD transmission, you would need to rig up something else, like mounting the starter under the oilpan.

Nice.. well at least all the "nomal" bell housing bolts arent even drilled and tapped.

So much for anyone just "bolting in" anything larger, like a LS2... it wont have any of the right holes. Ghay

Don't the v6 4L60E have less clutches in the clutch packs?

No... the cam is different. It is a dual-pattern (sorta)... DoD valves get a .492 lift... non-DoD valves get a .482 lift. It is more comparable to the cam in the LH6 truck engine which has .492 lift on all the valves.

Everything is listed here except the cams specs.

The LS1tech database was acting weird when I first posted... I couldn't tell if it actually made it in there... so I reposted it.

don't forget the heads use a smaller intake valve than on the LS6.
