Default Pics Are Now Up 2006 Monte Ss

Well folks, I've finally got off my butt and have put some photos on here. Was going to wait until I got the MPD hood on but figured everyone know what it looked like so I'll just throw on some updated pics with it later. As I said earlier in a post under the Diablo tuner thread, I'm new to this forum but have really enjoyed reading everything on here. It's cool to hear there are people who enjoy cars as much as I do. Have gotten some good info and even learned some things. (Imagine that!!!) Well hope the photos turn out well (taken with my phone, don't have a digital camera, at least not yet). See ya on the forum!!!!

Yeah, I did. $112 including shipping. They're even being advertised right now the last time I looked. Do search under 2006 Monte Carlo and they should come up.

don't like the mismatched front air dam or the straight pinstripe that goes over the top of the curved body lines - looks totally out of place...

the pinstripe, if any, should only be on the curved "swoops" on the side, like what Paul originally had on his (that was you, right Paul?? LOL)...

[QUOTE=06MonteSS]don't like the mismatched front air dam

The air dam was done in the same color code as the silver on the bottom of the car. Matches exactly when looked at in real life, must just be the photos.

It isn't matched perfectly. It is hard to match all the pieces without painting them all, especially with metallic paints.

It is probably the proper color, but sprayed differently than the other pieces were so you get a different look. This is pretty common with any touchup.

How big are those tires? I was thinking of getting some rims and tires I didn't know if I wanted to go bigger. 20's would probably be overkill huh??

To me, larger than 20's is too big. The tires I have are 255/35/20's and seem to be, at least to me, about proportionally right. But all comes down to what you like.

wasn't talking about the color.. talking about the lines and size of it... doesn't match the others... you'd need to get the whole kit for that front air dam to have them all match up - since the side skirts and back are a different style than the stock ones.

Here's the kit here:

http://www.ronusa.com/bodykits/body_...onte_carlo.htm

notice how the side skirts and rear section are different than the stock set - and these match up to the front air dam, which you just put on.

Yeah, I'd seen the whole kit b4 on Razzi's website, but I don't lke the side skirts or the rear valance. I actually like the stock sides and rear better than any aftermarket setup I've seen. Just the front needed a bit of help, at least to me. I've never been a big "ground effects" person. Like the old Greenwood packages you could put on the late '80's to mid 90's Corvettes, totally ruined the look of a perfectly good car IMO. But a little lower front air dams, especially on out vehcles, really helps give that NASCAR look.

silver** not grey... maybe if you had a silver decal somewhere else, or if the spoiler were grey it may appeal to me more..

I personally think the MCSS looks best from the factory. Very clean, refined looking ground effects. Take it out racing or on a date, it works. Mine's bright red with red sides, love the contrasting black inserts in the bumpers.

Not the dramatic difference from the base MC like in the 80's, but a clean look. May be an option for those who didn't buy the SS. But I wouldn't put Fast & Furious body kits on the MCSS, that's crossing the line. Enough people will buy the chin spoiler and emblems as it is.

I'm not a NASCAR fan, but those of you who are, page 14 / 15 in the 2007 brochure shows the Chevy NASCAR style nose decal, page 17 shows the rally stripes. Good for 10 HP!
