Default 06 SS lowering springs

not sure if this should have gone in one of the generic suspension sections, but I'm targetting a specific group of users.. Anyhow I'm looking at lowering my 06 Monte Carlo SS and have run into a brick wall. So far I can't seem to find springs for anything other than the v6 versions of the 06 Monte. I talked to some meathead at Eibach who said "yeah we don't have those cause the SS is already lowered from the factory"..no **** I wanna lower it more jack@ss. Anyway, I could definitely use some advice or info on this one. I think Intrax actually makes a set, but I'm not sure about their rep.

thanks,
Kris

btw good to see Hexx and the other 2000Montecarlo.com members on here

I've seen a few lowering springs on ebay, but never heard of the companies. Here is a current one on ebay now.

I believe the springs are different between the Imp and MC. The MC got the FE4 suspension package while the Imp got the FE3...i'll look through my parts list to see what the part numbers are.

For those looking for lowering springs for the Imp, there is also SpringTech and Sprint lowering springs on eBay at any given time.

[EDIT: According to the parts list, both got p/n 22133023 on the front and 10415621. Even the struts are the same. In fact...i don't see one difference between the FE3 for the Impala and the FE4 on the MonteCarlo.]

I have never heard of SpringTech, but have heard nothing but horror stories about Sprint springs.

I don't know anything about either, but here is a set of SpringTech for about $185 shipped:

I thought i saw an Eibach kit on eBay as well, but according to their site they do not make a Pro Kit for the 2006+. It may not be up to date, though...who knows.

Eddie, what have you heard about the Sprint springs? What type of applications?

www.SpringTech.info has some info on the quality of their springs, not that means a whole helluva lot.

My last car was an import, scion tC.

A couple guys bought sprint springs off ebay, because they were cheap. They found after lowering that each wheel was at a different height/wheel gap. I don't know about any long term reliability of them, but they are just cheaply built as I understand.

I was seriously considering baggin my 04 MC SS.. It was all about looks and had no realistic hopes of ever being fast lol. The 06 on the other hand has some performance potential so I don't wanna totally rule that out. I know I have 20's on it, but it wouldn't be that out of the question to have a set of drags layin around for track days Thanks for the input so far!

I thought I saw some eibach on ebay a while back as well, but could never find them again. Eibach makes them for the cobalt SS, you'd think the impala would be coming out pretty soon. I'm still waiting for someone to get swaybars out.
