Well depends on what you call performance. If your looking for pulling 2.0 60 foots and looking to pull some serious G's in the corners then they SUCK! Seriously...with the studs it feels as it I'm driving on marbles and forget about putting the pedal to the boards anywhere in 1 st gear and think your going to get any kind of traction. But if your looking for an amazing performing ice and snow tire then this is the combo for you. In the little snow we've had so far this year, this thing feels like a four wheel drive. If your driving in a lot of snow/slush it's always best to look for a narrow tread width (puts more pounds per sqaure inch on the road), and a taller profile tire will be more flexible to give you better all around grip. Plus as an added bonus...if you happen to slide sideways into a sidewalk or something, good chance your not going to screw up your rim. These are the reasons why I decided on 215-65-16, plus the cop car look is just so sleeper!

Snow tires are usuaully real soft. . . .so expect to replace them every year if you feel like you have a heavy foot. A couple good burnouts and you could go through half of their typical 10000-15000 mile life.

Yeah, i've been taking it easy on them, considering they haven't seen a flake of snow yet...and we're already into January!

eddie, just buy some non-HD wheels and drill the holes for the centercaps yourself. It's not hard to do. The necessary bolt size is in a thread somewhere at NAIOA.
