Heard somewhere around here the GTO LS2 thermo works on the LS4.

I think these cars are the ones that you can't turn the fans on any earlier like the LS1's, so do they do any good?

 

Can't you turn on the fans earlier with the Diablo Sport Tuner? I am getting one so that was the reason I asked. I think our stock one is 195*. I would like to get a 180* thermo. Thanks fellow Patriots fan.

ive got a LS2 Vette 160' T stat in mine... complete **** SHOW to change out!

 

I just found out that our stocker is a 187* thermo.

Did you throw any codes with the 160*? I wish they made a 170*... Thanks in advance.

I did the 160* out of a LS2 GTO about a year ago when I got the car. I have never set and SES light with it. Yes it is stupid design and crazy to change out. Just hope you have alot of extensions then you can reach behind the front manifolds with the extensions and get to the rear housing bolt that way. I found that out on the reinstall of the damn thing wish I would of know on the disassembly of it. It really does me no good because I still have a stock PCM with stock fan on tables.

Thanks CompG. I have plenty of extensions for the job. Even some with offsets so the socket can wiggle a bit. Are they 10mm bolts? I think the 160* thermo with a Diablo tune will be a nice fit. Thanks again.

I ordered a 160* thermo for a 2005 GTO today off of pfyc.com. We shall see what happens. Thanks for all the help guys.
