im a ricer now
VERY clean looking car, not rice at all
i'll get some pics of it tonight when i do the intake to it. it's weird to have trq steer from a 4 cylinder. dunno. it doesn't start commin alive till about 5k. i might tinker with the boost bypass on the blower see if i can get some more low end out of it. 1st gear is utterly useless now.

Drive a N/A 4 cylinder like an Acura RSX or Civic Si. Your car will feel like a torque monster after stepping out of one of those
i have pics for you tonight, and a special one just for you.
Some customers have commented about transmission oil in the clutch housing, slipping clutches or broken axle shafts on this model. An analysis of several of these failures has revealed that the problem is due to excessive front wheel hop during WOT acceleration events.
Excessive wheel hop transmits a torsional shock load into the transmission case. This causes the case to crack and transmission fluid to leak into the clutch housing. See photos below.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Stiffer axle shafts and hardware will change the system harmonics and help prevent wheel hop. These planned changes will not be available until the 2008 model year.
Note:: Be advised that failures of this nature are abuse. They are NOT defects in materials or workmanship for which General Motors would be responsible and should not be covered under the terms of the new vehicle warranty. Vehicles with this complaint should be inspected by the dealer and Area Vehicle Manager. A product report should be submitted on each.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
I worked on this wheel hop issue on the Cobalt. We evaluated different mounts and different size half shafts as well as torque management. The final result for 2008 MY is a combination of these elements. The turbo Cobalt was going to get a 6-speed, but it cost too much. I really shouldn't get into detail about failure modes, but I would advise strongly against getting your cobalt into powerhop!

Hard to blame a car company if you're beating the **** out of a component the average person could go 150K miles w/o incident.

Honestly, people beat on these cars...its like an STi or Evo. Its cheap fun until something breaks after they do 5k clutch dumps and donuts out the ***. The point is, anyone that buys a SC'ed 2 door performance coupe is going to beat the living **** out of it, isn't your average daily econo-box driver.
I guess it's all about the bottom line really.
When they upsized the Cobalt and threw on the SS badges, I thought it would make a nice replacement for the Beretta Z26.
If the spoiler is too loud it just means you're getting older, at least you got rid of the 4-door!!!
Congrats on the purchase.
Did it come with the stage II dealer installed? If not dont even try and race a LS4 car... I can screw with them things when there stock just holding it about half throttle, enough to stay a fender ahead. No mater how fast they shift it ALWAYS falls back a half car on the 1-2 lol
Why you got rid of that grand prix after the mods to get this i have no clue...
gimmie time man!

edit: i will have a couple pics just for you. my hand writting sucks.
