didn't sell the dp, or the iat, or the intake dealy.

i took a drastic drop in payments.

bought an 07 cobalt ss/sc. call me silly, but it's actually a fun lil car, and fits in my garage so much better!

it remained stock for about 2 hours

kansas gxp off clubgp called it before i sold the car. if he doesn't buy it, you're next in line

as far as handling. this might make people angry, but i think it handles better then an ITR. more solid feeling

the kid at work has one of the fastest cobalts i konw of. so far he has put in new pistons, had to grind down the supercharger to fit a pulley, cold air intake, injectors, tune, another intercooler, zzp axal shafts cuz his keep snapping, full exhaust system, and i guess they came out with a new supercharger for the car so he is ordering that. the damn car is sick its so fast

Check out GM Performance Parts. They have build up kits that can take you to the 500 pony range. The Cobalt SS/SC isn't rice unless you make it rice. Did you get the SS with the limited slip diff? The limited slip makes a huge difference on the track and strip.

Area, Is that the Vector IAT kit? If it's intact I'll buy it from you, just let me know. I saw a Red SS at Hershey Park last summer. Real nice ride, defiantly not a ricer.

I thought about buying one of those when I first started woking at a Chevy Dealership, but I needed the big car and the 4 doors. So I had to wait and keep my eyes and ears open for a lightly used '06 Impala SS in order to accomplish the lower payment (it also helps that I got the car for less than dealers would usually pay for one).
I hope you enjoy the new ride! The Cobalt SS/sc's really are fun cars, and those ecotec motors take very well to boost and/or more of it! With a pulley, intake, and a reflash you can get up around the 250-260 hp area pretty easily. There is a cobalt in this city that blows the doors off of my '06 Impala SS (as well as Vettes, TA's, EVO's etc), but he is far from stock.

Congradulations, That should be a fun car. Seemingly more potential to go fast than the LS-4 w body.

it's a fun car to say the least. im actually happy i did it. i don't miss the gxp. other then the instant torque. the lil whiz bang takes a while to wind up.

stock for stock, i trapped the same as my gxp when it was stock. kids will NOT leave me alone. i had the car 15 mins, and already had two people trying to run me. WTFm8!

anywho. im fully aware of the mods i can do and the limit. its at the dealer right now doin the stage 2 stuff and an oil change. already ordered a cai, header, and engine dampner for it.

270 to the tire and about 108 traps should be easy.

i guess i won't see any of you on the road course anytime soon!

BTW, the gxp brakes. *** loads better, thats the part i miss the most i'll get pics of it up later.

BTW, the spoiler is effin annoying!

but it is a fun car to drive. it is soooooooooo easy to drive fast.

anywho, the IAT kit i have isn't a kit, it's just a couple gm parts thrown together. so in short, nope, not the vector kit

Had a Beretta Z26 for the longest time, thought the car was a great car, handled well, quick enough for a crowded city, but being bright red w/ ground effects - you're right on the kid magnet!

When they upsized the Cobalt and threw on the SS badges, I thought it would make a nice replacement for the Beretta Z26.

If the spoiler is too loud it just means you're getting older, at least you got rid of the 4-door!!!

Congrats on the purchase.

a spoiler too loud ??

he probably means the height of it, being right in the middle of your line of sight through the rear view...

A buddy of mine has a 06' C-balt SS that has the stage 2 kit @ 17PSI, header, cat back, modded intake and my tune up and it went 13.7 @ 103. And broke an axle from wheel hop. It broke right in the middle, looks likea heat treating issue to me.... To hard.

So 108 trap speeds might be little out of reach w/o further mods like cams... They need to come out witha KB blower for those instead of that little pee wee eaton then it might make some decent power.

one bad thing about that car is there is a GM bulletin out for cracked trans. when u take off hard or drive " aggresivly" u can crack it and the bulletin says NOT to warrenty it, it is driver abuse. we have seen a few come in that had to pay cash for it. and the massive wheel hop

the wheel hop fix is an easy one. just have to get around to it and order the parts to fix it. 108 isn't that far out of reach. there is a couple stage 2's here doing 105 mph.

im fully aware of the axle issues, but the cracked tranny case is a new one on me.

anywho
i may get into auto-x and some roadracing with it. without serious driveline mods, it won't be affective below 40 mph. the gxp at least somewhat hooked, this thing just blows the tires off. im not saying i won't 1/4 it a couple times here and there.

dunno, guess im getting old
