Hey y'all pretty new here, don think i've posted in this forum yet. I have a black 06 monte SS, and hey BuffaloSS, I'm in the b-lo too.
I've been looking at rims for a bit now, and i've seen some that are black with "machined" lip and center. Not to sound like a noob, but what does that mean? I've had chrome and polished, is it the same as polished? Is it hard to take care of? I want something nice for the summer, but i dont want to buy crap either!!

Welcome bri06ss!...'bout time someone local joined up. Where are you located? I'm on the West Side. I've been trying to get a meet together with other Buffalo Imps from NAIOA.com....were supposed to meet this Saturday but i've got to coach my daughters' softball team, so it's been postponed. Also been trying to get to the track (for the first time ever) in Leicester (So. of Batavia) on a Friday night over the next month....or at least the 1/8mi in Lancaster on Tuesdays to get some practice getting off the line. PM me if you're interested in any/all of it.
Anyway, about your Q, the "machined lip" just isn't as glossy as the polished lip, but would still look nice. Personally, i'm looking for a polished or chrome lip to match the chrome window trim on the Imp, but since the Montes didn't get the chrome trim, it shouldn't matter what you choose...it would all look nice IMO. Which OEM wheels did you get? They came in polished ($300-400 option) or machined-face.

Mark, those are what i'm getting if i stick with 18's. Very close in appearance to the cheaper American Racing Casino, but about $50 more per wheel. I just hate that everyone else has the Casino, so i'd go Helo just for the name.
