I think the armrest in the SS is great. I keep the tire gauge in there, an old Pioneer faceplate case with pens & pencils, the MP3 interface cable, and there's still tons of room in there. Then in the tray above there's more room for stuff. I keep the occasional MP3 disc or two in the crevass beneath the radio.
I didn't realize until recently that the back doors in the Imp have map pockets as well.
And i have to add, while we're on the topic of storage, that the Diablo fits nicely under the flip & fold rear seats...plus it's a good area to hide other stuff.

only time I get in the back is when I'm cleaning the interior... just did it yesterday as a matter of fact... I'm 6', 230lbs and I get in and out ok...
and why were you getting in the back seat?? you'd be driving, don't worry about the back seats...
