You act like that would surprise you. I don't think any magazine has ever got any times for any vehicle correct to what it runs in the real world.

Sorry Ed, I raced a 2006 Impala SS to Lethbridge for like 10km we did top speed runs, 30 roll, 50 roll, 100 roll and I spanked the guy all over the powerband. Poor guy didn't stop but I did notice he had exhaust and not to sure what else.

Does anybody know the curbweights of the three cars? I thought the GXP was a couple hundred lbs less than the Impala (not sure about the MC).

I think the GXP is 130 lbs lighter than the Impala, which is around 3650 I believe.

....Well I do recognize the GXP for all that it has equipment-wise which does give it a great competative edge but from a styling point I can't go for it... I love the front and the profile but the back end is a huge turn off for me...not to mention the interior is like out of control, and that steering wheel....I got the Monte because I for one don't need or desire four doors, Styling inside and out is atractive without going crazy, and the car as a whole is just a very nice machine. And its reasonably light for it's size. 3487 according to the title. Now to see where I'm comming from I had a '89 Cutlass Supreme International as my 1st car and 4 GPs; '89 SE, '90 Turbo, '92 SE 34 manual (which I still have), '93 SE 34 Auto, not to menton all the various engines I've rebuilt for them..loooooong story....Anyways thats why I like the Monte.. Oh one last thing they are kinda rare(thanks to GM), nice to drive something noone else has.

It's amazing the different taste each of us have in our cars, I find the Monte Carlo fugly, dull nose, sides, rear, down right fugly wheels and interior. I hate the flat seats zero lateral support, you guy must slide all over the place. I can see why GM stopped making the MC. Nothing against your taste in cars just funny the difference in taste wise. BTW I'm a Jeff Gordon fan driver of the NASCAR Monte Carlo.
