o god no..montes are bad *** cars..keep the exterior mods tasteful (wheels, overlays, etc)...sometimes people get bored with the look of their cars and just overdo it....the only stripes I really dig are on the new stangs, and aniversary stripes on camaros and ta's (particularly the the 30th anniversary, 99 TA, blue white)

I just think a monte carlo, even though it has a V8 mill and some performance cues, is more of a refined, luxury speed/muscle car. Different than a Camaro, T/A, or Rustang....JMO/

Actually, while I have a hard time with a front driver being called a 'muscle car', Nacho has struck a chord with me. The LS4 trio is indeed a midsize car. It does have one of the bigger blocks available from GM. That makes it, in my opinion a true muscle car (the definition being a midsize car with the biggest, or darn close to it, corporate engine available), unlike the pony f-body cars. Oh, I still hate the aftermarket stripes.

I went to my chevy dealer to have that back up battery for the OnStar replaced today
and got the price for the stripes kit $357.89 part #1W12-116. I think maybe silver.
is the one I will get.

While i have never been a fan of stripes, I was considering a single, fat, flat black or possibly a metallic silver stripe with thin stripes on either side...similar to this, courtesy of Pitch Black SS @ NAIOA:

I dunno...the black stripe is more a ghost stripe, and I think they are cool but they belong on a Viper or Porsche or something. Like I said earlier...Monte's are refined, luxury speed...don't rice them out.
I understand those who want to inject some '60's/'70's muscle car into your ride, but the monte is not a ponycar , it never has been !
