The shudder is a very very small amount compared to the ZZP. ZZP was a hard shudder around 30km at braking and the 3800 performance one is very very small amount around 24km. I noticed the shudder after about 3 days of driving but its maybe 15% from the ZZP one.

Thanks for that info, scarlett. I'm dreading that shuddering. The ZZP was so bad in the cool weather that i couldn't take it.

Did you go from the ZZP to the new one, or did you go back to stock in between?

FWIW, i had to trim my ZZP mount when i installed it...actually, i didn't trim it...i just squeezed it in there and it trimmed itself LOL.

Buff, I installed mine and the shudder was more than I liked when slowing down. I didn't have to trim the mount itself only the end pieces. Two minute fix with a knife.

I did a slight modification to the mount to lessen the shudder. I made a narrow channel in the front and back of the mount similar to the stock mount but smaller and it kept the majority of the firmness and reduced the shudder significantly. All in all a good mod. Improved firmness at launch and driving around...lol

hmmm, all this talk of shudder has me second-guessing doing this install...

all that shudder can't be good for other items under the hood that the bracket is attached to... could vibrate other **** apart... no?

The shudder concerned me along with the aluminum brace on the motor that the bracket attaches to. Looks solid but I don't know how well it would hold up to severe shuddering. I'll see how the softening I did to the poly mount works out..lol

I am going to put the stock one on during the winter. The slight shudder at around 24km is very very small for me. I read on another forum someone thinks that shudder affects the alignment of the tranny and motor but I can’t see that happening. The main reason for the stronger mount is to keep them better aligned and the axles straighter. In my view I think you just feel that slight shudder because the mount is more solid. Gees one of the first mods they tell you to do on a Mustang is switch out all of the mounts to after market ones.

The shudder from the ZZP mount would rattle the fillings from your teeth, IMO...hearing that there is still some shudder from this mount is keeping me from jumping on this one, too.

With the amount of problems i've had with my car to date, i don't want to add a reason for the dealer to deny me warranty work should something wear too early.

aaah, ok... cool... thx man!

don't think I'll hack it up though... but who knows...

I'd be worried about that center piece snapping/cracking now that it's not solid... get that engine torque pulling/pushing on that, and it could... maybe...

I can't see hacking up a new mount, though. I think i'll leave my stock mount turned 90*

Like I said, it's not pretty. I don't see much chance of the center being destroyed. It's still pretty solid, but just in case I see excessive wear I have a spare mount available...lol

Does this help with the annoying front wheel drive pull on hard accelleration?

In my view I think it takes out some of the torque steer.

I don't get torque steer when I disable the traction control... leaves 2 nice straight strips of rubber... ;-)

I installed one of the 3800 performance motor mounts on my '07 SS last night. There is a little more vibration at idle but not an undue amount, and I can definitely feel the difference in response. Driveline slack is reduced and there's more of a connection with what the front end is doing. A great mod for the money!
