Default Splash Guards

Hi guys, I just picked up an 06 Imp SS, and I'm looking for some nice fitting splash guards. The dealer had a note in his book that says the factory molded ones won't work on an SS with the 18 inch factory wheels. Sounded wierd to me Anybody else have this problem or a solution. Thanks!

The factory molded ones do work on the ss. I have them on mine.

I hate splash guards but might have to get them. The GM ones are pretty nice looking though. It seems the worst area on my Impala is actually just in front of the rear wheels on the lower rocker. Must be something about the way the wind moves over the car because it's getting totally sandblasted there. My commute is 30 miles highway each way so I'm sure that's not helping.

MBRP, 2.5" in, 3.5" out, dual walled, angle cut, 12" long

The place I got them from doesn't seem to carry them anymore, which sucks, b/c I got them for only $36 a piece, give or take.

Yeah...but they don't work on just the stock Impala exhaust due to the bent piping to meet the cutouts. Corny has a custom exhaust. Should work on your monte, though.

Here's the same tips on mine

Fills up the openings like it should have been from the factory.

I'll get a summer / clean pic for you when I get a day off.

Those somehow look different than corny's. I think it's the chrome. Yours look more dull for some reason...maybe it's the camera....

Yep! Those are the ones I got, but the shop cut off the ends w/the clamps and welded them straight to the mufflers. Looks great!

Yah - mine look dull 'cause that pic was taken in the dead of winter in that massive zero degree blizzard in the mid-west (notice the snow everywhere in my parking lot).

Camera is a Cannon 8 megapix, will let you count nose hairs when you zoom, I'll see if I can get a pic in the sun for you this week.

Back to the topic, got the factory splash guards and yes they do fit perfectly. I hate to tell you Corny, but by the looks of your pics, you have the fronts on the back and the backs on the front. Maybe you prefer them that way.

What on earth makes you think that???

In fact, when the shop that painted them was putting them on, I caught the guy putting them on wrong, and quickly corrected him. To make sure, we test fit each piece.

Maybe YOU put yours on wrong???

Yes, it was after I originally installed the smaller ones on the front, and was getting ready to put the bigger ones on the rear, that I noticed "FRONT" was molded into the guard. Baffled, but suspect as the holes did not line up on either guard, I removed the one I installed on the front and noticed it said "REAR". When I located the guards to their correct positions, the mounting holes lined up perfectly. Oh well, no big deal Corny, your car still looks great!
