Default Transmission Rebuilt

Has anyone had a transmission rebuilt by www.transmissioncenter.net. They rebuild the 4T65's with improved clutch bands and a number of other parts. I'm just curious if anyone has used them and if they are satisfied. As soon as i get my first transmission failure i'm going to purchase there Level 2 4T65 rebuilt transmission. They claim it can handle 700HP easily.

I do as well. . . .otherwise I would have heard of them before. I don't think the axles can handle 700hp let alone the trans.

Theres only a few weak parts in 4T65 you can easily upgrade them. Its the clutch's that can't take the torque. They use clutch bands that are rated for 1000HP 2nd i'm not going to be making 700HP of course i just want a trans that can take daily abuse. But thanks for your reply's.

FWD trans axle, delivering about 700-1000 HP would do horrible things:

1. Enable the Diff. Surge protection every time the gas pedal is touched.
2. Grenade the input shaft.
3. Make mince meat of the spiders and primaries.
4. Sheer the thrust washers.
5. Leave little pieces from the exploded tranny case all over the place.

But sure dude, get your tranny built. My friend has a single turbo MCSS @10 PSI on a forged 3800 and he has rebuilt his tranny 4 times with a Quaife Posi unit each time, that alone costing $2,000. He only makes ~440 HP, ~420 TQ.

Oh and here you go:

I believe he ran LS7 injectors, some aftermarket intercooler for a Neon, and custom Magnaflow catback. I was with him when he picked it up and that thing burned the tires to about 60mph. The builder said the setup would probably do 420rwhp on 7psi and tuned with 91 octane.
Anyways, 3 days and the trans was fubar. Had the trans rebuilt by a local GTP guy using all Intense stuff and a Qauife(sp) posi.

Motor was toast in a month, car is gone, and he has a another brand new GXP that will only see bolt ons.

Turbo setup was top notch and badass. Its the car owners "zero" automotive knowledge that killed this car, not the shop that put it together.

Any trans fwd or rwd can be built to handle 700hp with the right parts if the parts are available.

Here some info on GM's racing 4T65 trans that is used on the 1000hp ecotec.

It has nothing to do with that. These cars will not handle 700hp for very long, one thing will break after another. It gets back to the whole thing, if you want a race car buy one.

Your right,no car for $30,000 is going to handle 700hp w/o building everything from engine to tires and suspension. All we want is to have a DD that can handle more than 303hp w/o falling apart.

X2. This is another reason why I sold my 04 Monte SS S/C, I was really starting to push the tranny with all the mods I had on it. Now I am just happy with bolt ons and a tuner. When I get my 2009 Camaro SS, that will be a different story.

IF the stock trans could handle 400hp that would great until the next car probably a used 09 camaro in 3 years.

After the initial depreciation, it will have good value.

probably right the 05 mustangs were selling for sticker price used in 2006 and $2000 over sticker new here in MD.I'm guessing the same for the camaro.
