Default Custom Headers

I have an appointment this week with a guy that is going to build me some custom headers.

That looks like a great project. I really enjoy doing unique projects.Ok, so as we move forward, there is some info I would like you to know.Custom headers of this nature start at 1350. That price includes the install, and the coatingto ensure long life and reduced under-hood temperatures. The cost may increase slightly due to many factors, mostly just complications. If you were looking for stainless headers, the price is 50% more.Another thing to consider is the exhaust, as making great headers will require custom exhaustalso to facilitate the longer primary length of the headers. There is also the matter of the oxygen sensors. If there is a simulator available, it would make life alot easier. Otherwise I use spark plug non-foulers, and they are not 100% effective on all vehicles.I just wanted to be up front with you about the costs and some details. That said, to get started I would need to secure an exhaust manifold gasket from your exact modelto get the flanges laser cut for the project.(this is a 2 week process)I can source them myself, but I would just require the info pertaining to your exact model year, package, etc. If this all seems fine to you, we can talk about the project a little more in depth, and I would like to meet up in person informally. Thanks for your interest,

So anyways I am going to meet up with him Friday or Saturday I gave him a picture similar to what the v6 headers look like. He says it would be about 3 weeks for him to do it which means I wouldnt have a dam car. I told him how there is tons of guys that would pop a boner if he could pull this off and make them look good and function well.

Cross your fingers!

Keep us updated! Hopefully the price would go down with the possibility of selling more sets.

I'm not going to wait forever. Also this guy is going to step up the headers so it helps in all power ranges. I am going to heat coat them in black.

So what's the deal? Is he just waiting for people to blindly pre-order? Is there any more information in terms of his research progress etc?

I agree, anyone who wants to make money needs to bone up the cash to make an initial set, get some hard numbers, videos, etcetera, then mass market them. . . .it only makes sense.
