I 100% agree with you buffalo. I guess I was just responding to the previous poster who asked why you would get an HP tuner if you're not a tech head constantly twiddling with it everyday...answer: because it can talk to the TCM.....unlike diablosport. My "stupid diablosport" was really just a bitter comment towards their lack of tcm support....Oh by the way, I am a diablosport user.

Speaking of TCM support, I emailed sprayjunkie a few days ago and it looks like we're still a few weeks off from a beta tcm tune. Thats what they said a few weeks ago...blah...at least the delay intervals are getting shorter. Soon it'll be "a few more days"...then after a few more days...another few more days....then hours....until they have us on the edge of our seats with the last few seconds....ok I killed it.

Corny, I'm the one you referenced for the 25HP gain from my HP Tune. I had the K&N FWI & MagnaFlow exhaust at the time of the tune. The guy that did mine is very experienced and has an excellent reputation. I have the charts but havent had time to post. Still involved with my son's rehabilitation from his acident. I'll see if I can get them up by next week. I can tell you it was a world of difference from before the tune to after. I will be going to the track within the next two weeks and will definetly post better than my 14.7 stock run. I highly recommend the HP tune....Ron

The nice thing about HPTuners is that you get something like 8 credits, the software and USB interface for $499.

I paid $400 for a Hypertech for the Z, would need another $400 for the Monte, and another $400 for the ZO6, where HP does them all for $500. I'm not aware that I'd need a wideband, but throw in a wideband, and it's still cheaper.

Not to bash Diablo, but tranny interface is needed to compete in the handheld market.

Like Compg said, you can tune for the other guys, and after your third tune you're money ahead.

HPT is also much more dynamic as computer interfaces go, which prompts me to learn more about the system. The sheer volume of parameters pushes me to tune the car even more.

I gained about 25 hp w/ hptuners w/ myself doing the tuning. I would think you could get a solid 20 hp going from a stock tune. Its really not that hard to get the power. Just make sure you read up in this forum and the hptuners forum and get a wideband before you dig in. Learn all the do's and don't (so you don't screw something up). The hardest part for me was getting the big lopey cam to idle correctly. As far as that tuner goes, I wouldn't take it there. If he has no confidence in his abilities to get at least 20 hp, then 5-7 hp is probably all you'll get from him.
