He said a good shop. What? They don't have any good exhaust shops where you're from?

There's plenty where I'm from and I got my "custom" system done for right about $500, less than you'll find any cookie cutter system for anywhere else. And, it sounds better than any system you'll get off an assembly line.

Whats wrong with the stock springs, the rev limiter kicks in before I go into valve float and I can't rev past 6100 anyway. 15-20HP at the wheels seems unrealistic unless we go with a higher ratio/lift rocker arm which would/could require a better spring.
Don't get me wrong, bolt on stock ratio RR's seem to be a good idea but I've heard that aluminum bodied rockers wear the main body out and send aluminum debris through the engine. Stainless steel would be the way to go but they cost bucks!
I'd like for some one to check the accuracy of the stock rocker arms, cause I know that the older V8's used, **** poor quality stamped steel rocker arms that were not a true ratio. The LS engines use a cast main body with a roller bearing right?
Thanks for the ideas!

Never heard about this?

I have the Crane 1.8's and stock springs are fine, I always shift at 6 grand any ways. You can change the rockers and add springs for a little more gain. But the new springs really wouldn't work to there potential until you change the stock cam.

Sup guys, I'm new to the Impala world, and really want to get in and get some more power out of this thing. I've been reading some other threads, but can someone fill me in as to why I need to upgrade the motor mounts? Also which programmer is the best bang for the buck?

about the motor mount, there's numerous threads on that process.

As for the programmer, if you interested in learning how tuning an engine really works, use a laptop for HPTuners.

If you are a plug and play guy, get the Diablosport programmer, loads good tunes through the service port under the dash...quite easy and 06MonteSS and BuffaloSS can help you out.

ImpalaSS07, while the Diablosport would be better for you if you're not too sure on tuning it yourself, unfortunately it's not yet available for the 07's. I'm patiently awaiting it to be available though haha.

Have you thought about a electronic cutout?

Yes I have, might be the route we go with. I personally wanted 2 40 FLows on it, but she did seem to like the magnaflow when I let her hear a exhaust clip.

A 3" down pipe into the stock converter with some more 3" pipe into a cutout would be very cost effective! Around 300? Mufflers would be mostly for sound if you keep the rest of the stock piping, and dual tips are expensive !!

What about a Fast intake Manifold? I have been trying to figure out if an LS2 fast intake will work on the LS4's or not?

As for the Magnaflow system... LOL Yes, its nice, but too damn quite. Get that, but I would replace the res that comes with it with a custom Hogan straigh pipe. Get the K&N CAI, and also get the HP Tuners and tune your car. Then add the downpiple from hogan and you will be set for alittle bit.

I am going to be working with the guys from Vinci Hi-Performance on a rocker arm/push rod, LS6 spring set up soon.

I think we determined that Fast 90/90's dont work because AFAIK, our block is 13mm shorter than a LS2 block.

That sucks. I really wish someone would make more aftermarket parts for our cars. The LS4 has been out since 2005 and will be in the 08 GXP and Impala SS along with another Buick car I believe.
