I just received an e-mail from Kevin. He said they have completed the turbo and are taking orders/shipping it out. I've replied and asked for pricing and more info on what exactly is included. I will let you all know any more information when I receive it. He mentioned it would be around 550hp... NICE.

Here is what they sent me. Note: I have a K&N Aircharger and a DiabloSport Tune installed on my car and those are what he is referring to that I would have to take off.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You’d need to flash your PCM back to stock, and then we would reflash it with our software. Pricing on the kit is set at $5400 + 150 shipping. Everything sounds really good on the car, the only thing you won’t need is the KN aircharger, and you won’t be able to use the predator anymore. Not to worry, our reflash affects the TCM as well for shift points, pressures, etc!
Here’s a brief rundown of what is included in the kit :
8 x 42lb fuel injectors
Custom PCM tune
Turbonetics T-66 turbo
Turbonetics Evolution Wastegate
All piping mandrel bent, ceramic or Powder coated.
Cartuning W body intercooler
50mm Blow off valve
K and N air filter
High flow catalytic converter
DMH electric exhaust cutout with cabin remote switch
4T-65E shift kit
Lokar stainless flexible transmission dipstick
All PCV solutions
Direct bolt to stock exhaust
Full alky injection system
Fuel Pump rewire - racetronix
No cutting/welding required, can bring car back to stock with no problems
Turbo kit produces about 450whp(570 crank) from 250whp stock.
We still see stock or better gas mileage with the kit, on 91 octane minimum
required. The turbo really does increase efficiency, and DOD is left in tact.
We truly believe that this is the most complete turbo kit out on the market
today. Who else will give you a shift kit for your car with your turbo kit?
We feel this is an "all in one box" power solution that will give you amazing
performance, economy, and value.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have e-mailed him to ask around how many hours of labor it will take so I know what to expect to pay for labor. Now I just need to find out who will install this. I'll probably call my muffler place (they installed the Magnaflow Performance Exhaust and my K&N Aircharger CAI).

EDIT: This is the response for how much time it will take.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We’ve done the install at a decent pace in 8 hrs. I’d guess 10 hrs + fluids. Honestly however, our installation manual is very complete... if you’re a shadetree mechanic you can perform the installation yourself in about a weekend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I was thinking of ordering one, but at 5550+1500 for install and tuning (that's what the race shop in Kansas City charges... they have their own Dyno and their own tuning - instead of using the tune that comes with the turbo) I think $7k is a little heftier price tag than what I am wanting to spend.

Just a thought here......how many LS4 Turbo's has this shop tuned?

Do you think their couple hours of dyno tuning would equal 1.5 years of CONSTANT tuning updates? There' s no way.

$1500 for install is WAY too much. Any reputable shop would do it in a day and if they charge you more then $100 an hour you need a new shop.

So we went to do some more dyno tuning today, here's a couple vids.

This one is in km/h since I'm in Canada and didn't think to change it before we ran...figured I would mention that, still impressive either way:

here's another:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVaxIk1ET7o

At the same boost as last time we made the same peak power, more peak torque.

However, we gained INSANE power overall compared to last time, I'll get the graph scanned and I will post it soon. The area under the curve is way more.

Can't wait to see this, Jay. Please don't stiff us on the 26th (1pm, BTW, if you didn't see if posted)

So, this turbo is almost providing a 90% increase in hp...based on a 245whp figure. WOW!

GXPJay, the shop said they didn't know how long it would take and guessed that it would be around 1000 bucks to install - I'm guessing that was for around a 10-12 hour job. The extra 500 is what they charge to put the car on a dyno and tune the car. They recommend tuning each car itself and they never recommend "mail-order tunes" as they called them because they're not tuned to my specific car - only the same model of car.

I honestly don't know if there is a big difference between two of the same model car. But even if I had a shop install it and took the normal tune, it's still about 6.5k. Man, that's a lot of money =P.

All I know, if even after 1.5 years of tuning the car, we spent 2.5 hours on the dyno yesterday tuning and found up to 171whp at some spots on the car. "Mail order" is not optimal but it will be WAY better then having someone who's never tuned these cars do it.

One more thing I would like to add, when GM builds a car, say a GXP for example they have 1 tune for all cars. They use the same tune for ALL GXP's. They don't spend time individually tuning each car..lol that's why there's fuel trims and that's why cars these days are smart.

Aside from some minor things, a mail order tune for a turbo kit on a stock car will be VERY, VERY close to bang on because this turbo kit includes everything. If you have a cam or something different like that then I can see some tweaking needing to be done.

But if having one tune for every GXP is ok for GM....a mail order tune 1.5 years in the making shouldn't be too bad.

Sounds so cool. But it doesn't look good when I googled cartuning. The Chrysler forums are all complaints.

I don't know about anyone else, but I emailed Cartuning last week and it took him a day or so to get back to me, but he did. I asked for the instructions so I could get an idea of how involved of a project this actually is; he sent them no questions asked. From what I can tell of the pictures and instructions this is very well thought out kit, he has covered all of his bases. the only thing that turned me off to it initially was the "look" of it in the engine bay. However, now that I have heard that all the tubing will either be powdercaoted, or cermic, I plan on placing my order early next week. The only other company I've seen with this much detail in their instructions was Alky Control, not Vortech, ProCharger, Paxton, Magnusson, etc...

Any chance you could post the instructions or someone make them a sticky so we all can get an idea of what is involved in installing the kit.
