Default Got a K&N air charger.

So finally decided to put in an Aftermarket CAI Intake. Went with the K&N aircharger since I saw that most LS4 folks on here found it to perform better.
Deffenetly made my stock exaust louder. I feel a little better throtle response. But I think it was worth it just for the sound.
Around 2500-3000rpm car is so much loder I can hear and feel it iside with the windows closed. I could hear before but not as much.
Even my wife noticed it when she went to the store with my car. She tought she" broke it or something" ( she likes to step on it when she drives it) lol I don't blame her.
It is the funniest thing when I let her drive me around every dude is trying to race her.
Anyways back on topic.
So I can't tell if there is any difference as far as milege goes. I need to reset my Avg. to see how that goes.
For the guy that wants an easy and relativley cheap do it yourself upgrade. took about an hour.
Got it from Amazon $200 Shipped.
K&N I recomend.

Question to the guys with tunes or the ones that know more about tunning since I know zip, just starting to look into it.
Is there a need for a tune after an CAI install to get the most out of the cai?
What is the price of a tune at a performance shop and anyone know any good shops in the Philadelphia area?

YOu do not "have" to have a tuner for the K&N CAI.
Get an HP Tuner and learn how to use it.
Also, you can do a search, there is alot of info on this board that talk about the samething.

You don't HAVE to but you definitely should. Just those two mods alone gave me a very nice power boost. You'll get more out of your K&N with a tune. (I'm running the diablosport canned tune with DOD)

No tune necessary, but you should get used to HPT. I could help you out a lot along with area47 on here.

Thanks for the help all.
I am looking into the HP Tunner. Pretty good price but it looks like a pretty good product. Looks like a u bend delete and a HP tunner might be coming in the near future.

Here is link to a vid inside the monte with my CarPC setup. I had posted it on the MonteCarloForum while back.

meh....don't jump on the UBD.

Just save up for an exhaust system. A lot of members love the magnaflow system; there is a borla system coming out now; but the best is what I have: custom 3" SS piping all the way, !Res, and bullet mufflers. Sounds mean!

No, I don't have a camera at my disposal right now, but it sounds like a bolt-on LS1 with LT's and true duals...go to www.ls1sounds.com and find the TSP section.

I had the filter fall off once, but never again. Right now, my coupler at the TB is loose b/c i tightened the bandclamp down too much after cleaning the TB and it broke. (Note to self...gotta get another one soon!)
