new rwd impala!!!

I think the Impala should be the low volume luxury big FWD car ahead of the Malibu and the Caprice should be the new RWD "big car" for the hot rodders and fleet sales. Similar to the Altima and Maxima relationship.

And those are not concepts, they are fan photoshops thankfully.
Chances are the next Impala will look like this:

Actually, a Zeta platform Impala is very much up in the air and isn't anywhere near a sure thing. They actually are already developing a FWD backup plan for the next generation Impala in case they can't go through with the RWD version. Concerns over stricter policies with CAFE ratings is what might make them not be able to go through with it. Also GM is getting a new RWD V6 platform as well, not sure what kind of car will use this. Pontiac was supposed to get it first but now it's rumored Chevy might get a car on this platform first, possibly a replacement for the Malibu. But yea, as of late, Zeta Impala isn't looking for promising.

The S/C motor had limitations around 12.9's/13.00's without cams or a bottle. The new turbo cars should be able to dip into the high 12's with pretty minimal stuff and drag radials. Should be good stuff for those guys.

The corvette SS was supposed to be the ZR1. There is a caprice in austria and it doesnt look like this. Its like a big G8 and its really nice.
Is this source reliable??? Is it from GM, or from the GM enthousiasts?

The new turbo Cobalt isn't loosing power, the supercharged one only had 215hp. That turbo motor is a HUGE step up for those guys in power.

No i was referring to the Cobalt they had in their concept drawings listed at 245hp. It makes less power than what the new turbocharged one will make. I know the new turbo one will be making 260hp over the 205 in the supercharged engine. It's a shame they didn't keep the styling the same I really liked how the supercharged one looked(rims, spoiler, etc.) The new ones use a normal spoiler(although that was an option aside from the big wing on the supercharged ones), and the rims look pretty ugly IMO that they're putting on. And johnnystock, those drawings are purely GM enthusiast drawings and are in no way from GM. Thew new top model Vette is still going to be called the ZR1.

i think they should slap an awd system to the new impala ss drop in the 430+hp ls3 motor that are in the vettes now and throw on a supercharger and slap a $35000 price tag on it and be done with it....only if that could happen...

??? The current one has a 5.3, almost 20 year old chassis, and cost 30k loaded, you wont see anything like that for less than 40k.
