Default 2006 Monte Carlo SS - Lurching

Ok Boyz... I was in a big empty parking lot and thought I would have some fun, so I turned off the traction control, cut the wheel and nailed it. Car started to spin the wheels and it was like I lost all power. Straighten the wheel and nailed it and it reacted the way it should, cut the wheel and it shut down and power surge, shut down, power surge, shut down. Straighten the wheel and it burns them off. So WTF???

Is there and override on the traction control system that doesn't let you cut the wheel and power up at the same time?

That’s the abuse mode kicking in. If you didn’t have it you’d trash the axles. It cuts fuel off to prevent all the power from going to one side.

Yeah, I have noticed that as well on sharp turn tried to nail it before the wheels were straight and it didnt react till they were almost straight. I guess it is a good and bad thing huh.

yeah.. I wouldn't be doing that anymore..... No differential can withstand peglegging for long....I'm happy they programmed that into the computer but at the same time it makes it a bitch to launch at the track.....

Little confusing the first time that happens, huh? I didn't realize it did that and I pushed it goin out of a turn and the person with me started talkin trash sayin my car couldn't even light up the tires. Needless to say I stopped on a straight away and turned off the TC. A whole lot of tire smoke later I shut him up.
