Anyone else shitty in the snow?
Our 2007 impala ss just seems terrrible in the snow im not really sure why but it gets loose like you wouldnt believe even in the rain going into turns sometimes it just seems like the back end will want to kick around bad. Anyone else having issuies? Whats the deal?

Yeah today is the first time I've driven mine in the snow, holy **** it's horrible. Even if I barely touch the gas the tires just spin and the front end goes all over the road. Snow tires would be nice, I might need to look into them.

Personally mine did surprisingly well. I had it out the other night in the snow and I really didn't lose traction at all. Granted it was only about 2 inches on the road way, however sometimes that can be worse. But yea regardless the tires are the problem those RSA's are definately not meant for snow use. I almost got into a crash though while out due to a guy in a 4x4 Durango sliding into my lane. Found that humorous that a 300hp FWD car with summer performance tires does better than a Durango in the snow. I hear Durangos are really bad in the snow though.

it is probably the tires, rotated mine @8K and then just today @25K miles (yeah, yeah, yeah, I know). With the less worn ones on the front, it is way better in the snow (does not understeer as bad, but the oversteer is probably closer to coming out like yours.) At a guess, you have really worn rubber on the back and it lets the rear end slide too easily. From the way the tread looks, I will probably get 40K out of them and end up replacing them with something better (a/s still) next Summer.
If it is really that terrible, you might want to inspect your suspension for damage/wear.

I don't get any snow where I live, but the rain sucks! With any type of acceleration, the steering wheel just goes loose, I sit there and spin, and I can't point the car anywhere. Granted I have summer performance tires on right now, I'm putting the RSA's back on for the rain!

Me too... trying to go up my snowy driveway. I ended up having to let the traction control 'chug' me up the slope to get into the garage. My driveway isn't even very steep! Damned RSAs. I really don't want to spend money on tires right now so I'll probably just deal with it this winter and hope I don't lose it somewhere and end up in a ditch or worse.

My Impala SS does great in the snow even with the RSA's. I live north of Pittsburgh and not only drive in the snow but have the hills to contend with. I think the RSA's are great in the snow and wet conditions. I just put a set of BFG KDWS's on which seem to be doing a nice job in the snow so far.

Mine were at about 29-30 when I was out in the snow this past week. I usually Like them around 32 I just haven't had the time to put a little air in them.

Had lots of fun in the snow last week and my GXP did pretty good. Traction control and ABS got quite the workout! I really don't plan on driving in the snow unless I have to. This is a sports car and it was never really meant to be a snow cat so I will try to keep it within its limits. Let the stupid idiots in the 4x4's pave the way for you.

Can't always rely on the 4x4 guys they're worse in the snow than us sometimes haha. Also I don't know if I would call these cars sports cars. Nevertheless I'm content with how they perform in the snow I was expecting worse.

If i was going to use any chains i would use the emergency chains. they are a chain with only 2 chains going across the car. Easy to take off and put back on , but as for use them i have not. I was reading on there site tho its the lowest profile chains you can get.
