Default WTB Stock Throttle Body

I am a owner of a 2006 Cobalt SS and am looking for a LS4 throttle body to do a swap on my car! The larger throttle body swap is a common modification for the Cobalt SS/ Ion Redline crowd! So I am looking to purchase a members used throttle body. please email me @ monahan@ca.ibm.com if you are interested in selling one!

I don't have one, but i do have a MAF if you need one of those . Not sure if the TB is a direct bolt on for yours, though...but i'm betting that you know your car better than I.

I just need the LS4 throttle body, I can use my stock MAF, the larger throttle body bolts up the exact same as my stock one. I have a throttle body spacer which I will mount the new LS4 throttle body to. Than I need to change 1 setting in the ECU via HP Tuners in order for this to work. Not much difference in peak flow or HP, but tons more throttle response and more hp and tq throughout the rpm range especally in the low and midrange.

read this.

keep your stock tb. you get to a certain point that the bigger tb does not gain anything. basicially above stage 2. you have to change the scale to 4500, you also have to set the pe afr to a full point richer. so if you're commanding 1.200, to be safe you have to command a starting point of 1.320. going from 12.25 cmd to 11.13 cmd. you also have to back the timing down about 4 degree's from your total advance.

bullshit you say? no. i had to do this. it is also very very touchy on throttle inputs, the calculated airflow is the same on the maf and ve side. the gains you see that rebel posted on css.net are for a straight stage 2 car. if you have 42's i do no recommend this mod. hell i don't recommend it period.

i have spoken with a few people who know a lot more about the lsj than i do and agree with what i said above. what was typed above is what rebel failed to mention to anyone.

I have the GM stage 2 tune, do i need to change the pe afr to a full point richer like you mentioned and have the timing backed up a bit from the stage 2 tune?

I will be running meth mostly as a cooling mod not so much for timing advance purposes?

I read that the throttle is very touchy which is good to have some better throttle response. I thought that all i had to do was have the scaler set to 4500 up from the stock number on the stage 2 tune?

I was under the impression that no other changes to the stage 2 tune were needed for this to work? I will be running the GM stage 2 tune with the 2.9 pulley with this mod?

Any additional help would be apprecitaed! thanks alot!

I am going to adjust the ETC Scalar to 4500 in HP tuners, and have my tuner add a bit more fuel on the VE table, remove Torque management and just clean up the A/F ratio a bit on the GM Stage 2 tune. If I get some knock I will take a bit of timing out, but I think that I should be good in the knock department, I will be running a progressively controlled meth Injection kit, plus I can keep track of knock and timing advance on my Aeroforce Interceptor guage!

I just really want to fatten up my low and midrange and get some better throttle response. I am aware that there isnt alot of differnce in peak hp numbers just much more in the low and midrange. I think i should be very close to the 270whp mark with my current mods!

Worst case I have the stock TB and can go back to that if need be

you can get over 270 to the tire with what you have right now. i did it. just requires close monitoring. the map i used is on eaton inside. the maf cal, timing {high octane} pe table. you can get a lot more low end and top end out of the car just by playing with the timing table itself.
