Noooo, you've gotta give john a call and see what could've happened. The delay gives you time to ponder the sounds of that V8 rumble once you add the magnaflow....

The sounds of that V8 Rumble once you add magnaflow?
I added it and the car was still quite. I had to get a custom res removal pipe from Hogan, and also add the bigger downpipe to make the car sound alittle better.

These cars will not sound like a TRUE V8 until someone makes headers for them. Then its a whole different story at that time.

The Magnaflow gives me all the rumble I need. I don't like my cars loud, just a mellow note, but when the throttle is pressed, you get some sound. I've driven in my friends supercharged Z06, and wonder how he does it. That thing sets of car alarms with no problem!

I'm here!

I think the MF tone has always been extremely mellow...every one of their systems is that way. The key to these cars is the mufflers and the resonator. The General gave us a very tin-y exhaust note when we remove the resonator and keep the stock exhaust.

At first, I removed the resonator and ran no initial replacement for the res with my bullets, and the exhaust note was metallic and quite raspy. I also didn't like how the car sounded upon deceleration. Then, I decided to fanagled a glasspack that I had laying around in its place. Then it gave the car a clearer, true sounds instead of hearing metal vibrate.

As for the replacing the stock mufflers, I used Dynomax flow-thru bullet mufflers in order to get some more "bark" out of the system. I've always felt that this car has plenty of growl, but I want it to bark hard when I rev it up. So the 3" all the way definitely gave it some more flow (certainly made it louder) and the glasspack and bullets made it bark reasonably.

I would suggest this to any person who would want better quality sound and tone that is louder than the magnaflow. All of this is also achieved through a simple cutout too.....

Hope I could help here....I don't have the ability to get a video though.

Where did you get it from, again?

I like my magnaflow. I'm not looking for the "old-school muscle car" sound. Well, maybe i would, but this car is definitely not worthy of that sound, imo. Plus, the wife would absolutely hate me.

Whenever i'm outside and the wife is driving away, i stand there and admire the "mellow rumble" of the system from 1+ block away. I could do louder, but not much more. I'm happy

I got mine from Summit, who pricematched the discount at PerformancePeddler. Through no fault of their own, i got a set with two left-hand tips (on the imp it bends outward from the center-out muffler...not straight like the Monte). I called and complained, so they sent me replacement tips after i told them i didn't need an entire system. Got the new tips next day, and a much larger package in my front hall about one week later

These cars would sound SO MUCH BETTER if it was a inline V8 and not a sideways V8. We would have true dual headers with dual exhaust. But since GM couldnt figure out a good way of doing it with this body style, we have to deal with single exhaust.

So, the Magnaflow systems would be even that much better if we had true dual exhaust, but since we have a single, the only really thing you could do is a nice 409 Stainless steel from the cat back, no res * the res that comes with the magnaflow will be brought up in a second, but if you plan on using the magnaflow mufflers, please do not use the Magnaflow res and get the res delete pipe from Hogan* and make the size 3" into some nice Magnaflow mufflers.

*** Ok, here is somethign I have been thinking about using my old maganflow res. Since it is just sitting up in my spair bedroom, Ive been thinking about taking off my exhaust system, putting by MF Res back on, but putting all straight pipe with no mufflers all teh way back. This way, since the res acts as a Mufflers anyways, I could always tell the cops that my muffler is in the middle. The law states that you need a muffler, a single muffler for each exhaust pipe, well since we really are a single exhaust with dual outlets, I dont think the cops would be smart enough to figure it out ***
