Realize this is an old thread...but wanted to show you what I tried with my engine cover. Wanted to create a fake carbon fiber look. Saw this done on youtube, and I thought I'd try it...

Mel... yours looks great with the contrasting colors...
Guys, I found my extra cover on Ebay for $30 bucks...
try Craigslist, salvage yards, or post up on different forums! Good Luck!
Post a pic if you paint your covers... I'd like to see 'em!

DX 08 GXP -- that looks AWESOME! But I bet that either took a long time, or was very expensive to do...or have done! Mine cost less than $50.00, and took about 3 hours!
Still... your cover is definitely SHOW QUALITY! Great Job!

thanks fellas....i paid shipping from ohio to mass. and back so roughly $20 lol...Flip did it for me for free because he was in an accident and had some of my stuff for a decent amount of time and to make up for it said he would paint my engine cover for free

he acutally had his arm broke when an engine they were lifting broke loose so yeah he was outta commision for a bit....i guess i was one of the few who wasnt bitching at him for taking longer then usual so i guess having patience does pay off
