anyone elses car backfire?

when im at WOT and my cars shifts from 1st to 2nd i usually let off the throttle then stomp back down on it and sometimes when i do that it backfires and makes a really loud pop and gets a good jump into 2nd gear...is this bad for the car and is anyone else getting this too?....o and btw im ordering a wet nitrous kit and running a 150 shot and am going to have it tuned and will be installed by spring

may i ask WHY you stand on it till its in 2nd, let off then mat it again? Sounds like it hit the rev limiter though to me. Mine has done that before when trying to dial in shift points when it tinged off the revvy.

If your going to do that you might as well drop it in to first and then shift when you feel the need...

Or you could just leave it in 3rd or O/D And not have any issues.

I used to do that in my '89 GP.....GM calibrated that trans to shift way too high at WOT so I'd quickly back off and get back on the throttle to induce an upshift...that was hydraulic governor controlled so it would lend it self to that but these full electronic ones, probably confuse it....
