Default Driving on Drag Radials

I'm going to E-Town this tommorow providing the weather holds up... Would it be ok to to drive the 150 miles round trip on my MT/ET Street radials??? Worried about wearing them out.

I was looking at drag radials on the web a few months ago. At least one manufacturer, can't remember if it was MT or Nitto stated that their tires were street legal, but that tread life was limited on the street - only a few thousand km.

Your best bet is to check out the manufacturer's website.

I wouldn't, unless you enjoy sliding alot. Then again, I've only ever done it on a RWD car, so I'm not sure. I don't imagine it's too good for them though.

I drive on drag radials on my T/A all the time, but they are Nittos so they are a little more street friendly and have a longer tread life. I would say you can as long as its not wet out, but I personally wouldn't. I would throw some street tires on until you are ready to go to the track.

I ran my red car today which didn't do well at all. the engine in that car suffers froma severe torque deficit. The the best time i got was a 15.6@92 with an even super crappy 2.7 0-60 ft.... only 3 runs I certainly cannot get used to the car in that time.... I launched at 3000 and the engine just bogged something horrible. That engine doesnt get going till about 4000. Just before I got to my house I launched the car at 5000 and the clutch just slipped away...So I dont know. I guess I may never find out what that car can really do....But at least it looked good

Smile drag radials

i drove on nitto 555-R for a long time while they were on my LT-1. a waste of time and money going back and forth to street tires. drive on them, they are made to be a dual purpose tire.even in the rain, thats why they have that tread design. they are softer and my wear alittle faster but if you don't drive a hundred miles a day ....................no sweat.........RON

Yeah the ratings on the tires kinda scares mean suchas a treadware of 0 LOL but I guess it means nothing with these tires... I guess I could drive wit them for a little while but they like to hit into my wheel housings a touch. It's not that bad... Theoretically the clutch is somewhat new so maybe it was just alittle too warm when it slipped like that? Any suggestion on how to launch a car with insufficent bottom end I'd appreciate some suggestions. Oddly enough it's plrety strong on the street but on the track it's just struggling to get going....

i have nittos and i drive on em everyday they are descent in the rain what you would expect they do wear out fast as youd expect but they are better street tires than drag tires like the guy with the ta said you have to warm the **** out of em compared to the MTs
