If they're so strict in Cali about the tint that you wouldn't put any on, I'd say they're likely to mess with you. Knock on wood, I've never been bothered for them...and I've been pulled over with them on before. Once they pulled me over for my lack of a front plate and bugged me about my smoked license plate cover and my window tint, but not a word about the tails. Hell, they even let me go with just a warning, too. Respect to the officer is key...even if they ARE female

Thanks. I put V-flags on the fenders, too (the one in my sig) but they were crappy replicas and now have no paint  but that will allow me to put some fresh paint on them myself.

You car does look sharp though. The smoked tail lights and the flags are a nice touch.

Removing the old emblems is easy. With a heat source (sunlight & ambient heat might be enough in some cases) they should just pull off, but you can use fishing line to cut the adhesive from the rear of the emblem, and then some adhesive remover like GooGone or Goof Off to get the remaining adhesive/pad off the car. Just be sure to use a soft cloth or you'll scratch the paint to **** (I know )

Just be careful with anything more than a hairdryer as it will soften the paint if too much heat is used and you can leave dents in the paint when prying up on the emblems.
