Stick with Tinted Tails or go Stock?
Need some advice/input from you all.
I took out my tinted tails last night (or should I say EARLY this AM) and put in the spare OEM set I had sitting around. I planned to send my tinted tails to Flip @ GPONA (the guy who does the STB modifications) b/c he does excellent tint & paint work and I wanted a more professional tint job on them. I painted mine with VHT and Clearcoat, but they don't shine like they should. We were going to use a spare engine cover that I have as part of a trade of sorts.
Anyway, after seeing the stock lights on there again, after all this time, I really like them (as does the rest of the fam...not that THAT matters ). Especially since I put the cross-flags on the trunk...the red back there makes the emblem seem not-so-out-of-place. Remember, Black 20s will be on within a month or so, too.
So, my question is this:
Stick with stock and sell the tinted tails, or pay to have the tinted tails redone by flip and keep them for when I'm in the mood? I could really use the money at the moment (still need to get the rotors, pads, and 20's mounted) and I figure it would be a $100 or so swing (maybe pay $50 for the trade-balance on the tint, $15 for shipping, vs $135-150 for what I can likely get for the headlights if sold, if not more). Or just pocket the money and leave well-enough alone.
Here are a couple pics from this AM - Stock tails, new emblems, black headlights, 50% tint, black bowtie centercaps:
Here are some pics of the tinted tails, darker window tint, and "eyelids" on the headlights, OEM centercaps:
EDIT: After all this, Flip is making it more than affordable for me after the trade, so I'm going to get the tails redone and THEN consider selling them if I decide to stay stock. But your input is welcome, anyway

I really like the tinted tail lights. I like those badges, too. I've been looking at ordering the corvette twin-flags badges for the car, to put in place of the rear Bowtie. You wouldn't happen to know where to get those, would you?

Not sure which one you're thinking of, but here's another one similar to the 'vette that I had in mind for the trunk. It comes off a '60 Impala and can be found on eBay (and elsewhere, I'm sure):
Harmon's has a lot of restoration parts for older model Chevy's. As for the new 'vette flags, I'd say eBay, again, and your local dealer or online GM parts supplier.

You should keep the stock ones on and let Flip tint the other ones and then when you get those back I will take them off your hands. But if you do get them done by him post pics because I may ask and see if he can do mine also.
