Car In for Service Today. Droped off the car for service today.
ISS getting replaced.
Trunk carpet getting replaced it was split in the middle since new.
Took the courtesy shuttle to work. Dealers is 2 min away didn't feel like waiting an hour to get a loaner.

I don't think GM ever fixed the ISS.
A few people on here have had theirs replaced already.
The service tech at my dealer said they see a lot Non-SS Impys coming back with this issue.
Also I hear the Avalanches get the same issue often.

don't be surprised if the ISS replacement doesn't fix your issue...
had mine replaced, didn't do a damn thing.. then they dug around some more and found out they had to replace the whole steering rack and both front wheel bearings.. THEN my problem was fixed... front end was nice and tight - better than new...

I had your Thread about the issue bookmarked before I went today just so that if replacing the ISS didn't fix it I would have gone right back and suggest they check the things you had replaced.
I just picked the car up and the steering wheel feels solid as a rock no more clunkin' and my trunk looks better than ever.
From the work Order:
Replaced IIS
E7700 0.6 NQ/2N ----- Not sure what this is??? Anyone 0.6 hours maybe

Hey Taz.. nah, my wheel didn't really shake or move around on me that I remember.. the whole front end just felt real "loose"...
and when driving slow, forwards or backwards, and even if sitting still - turning the wheel would make a clunking noise in the front end...
they say with the ISS issue, you'd "feel" it in the steering wheel.. but I never really felt it in the wheel... would just hear it in the front end...
