Geez, chill out Taz

Jay, you've got an impressive set-up, sure a few additional things could have been done, but with 500whp you're going to smoke the tires at just about any rational speed, so it doesn't really matter if the kit uses the stock manifolds, you're probably not after that last tenth or hundredth on the 1/4 anyway.

Like you, if I was to do this, I'd spend the money to upgrade the tranny. Might as well do it up front instead of being stranded somewhere with broken parts spilling out on the road!

5400 for the kit
150 for shipping
35-45 or ? for the brokeage fee
Has anyone order one of the kits and know what the total cost of everything is?

No Chance unfortunately. This kit couldn't be built for $4000, nevermind sold. It's a pretty amazing value at $5400. when comparing to similar quality systems out there for similar money, you won't see near the value (shift kit, electric cutout, high flow cat, alky injection system, etc)

That estimate is precisely bang on. Shipping is offered at or below actual cost. Quote shipping of a 100lb box from Toronto to LA for example, and you'll see shipping is less than actual.

That price is a steal compared to what I paid Kevin. I bought a Hemi turbo kit for $6200, plus ~$134 duties, and $269 shipping. But that purchase was in November 2006 and he still hasn't finished the kit. So that brings me to the reason I'm posting here. Kevin, show your new customers that you stand by former customers. Send my refund (with tracking numbers)!

I want to do tranny mods to the car before anything else. That said, how feasible would it be to just run the kit with a very low boost until one has the time and money for tranny mods? How hard would it be to make a boost adjustment like this? For example, would it be possible to throw this turbo on and set it to a low psi to give the car maybe 70-100hp extra until a proper tranny is in place.

I know it seems like a waste to get a turbo if you're not going to use it to it's fullest potential. But to some people, it might be viable to have the turbo "grow" with their car if they can't afford the full tranny work right away.

The kit is capable of running low boost, like 5-6psi. If you don't drive like a complete moron you'll be perfectly fine and will want to poop your pants everytime you step on the gas

How easy is it to adjust the boost? And what kind of HP would one get at 5-6 psi?

Damn I was thinking it was going to be more than $5400... I was saving up getting ready to get Magnaflows ($525), K&N Intake ($225), and a Nitrous Outlet system ($350) plus windo switch ($110)... all together beign about $1210.... thats 1/4 way to a Turbo kit

EDIT: damn I forgot the cost of tuning too... 1/3 the way there

NOS just sounds more expensive as a daily use mod...in the end, I think turbo would win cost wise if you factor in maintenance.

I dont see anything being contradicting about my 2 statements as they were about 2 different things. You also dont need to go to the track to beat the **** out of your trans and have to get it upgraded because of it.
NEVER MIND THE POTENTIAL TRANNY PROBLEMS. WHAT ABOUT THE LS4 ITSELF? THERE'S A REASON CHEVY ENGINEERS DIDN'T USE A BOOSTED LS7 FOR THE NEW CORVETTE ZR1. ITS CYLINDER WALLS WERE TOO THIN FOR SUPERCHARGING, SO THEY CHOSE THE LS3 INSTEAD, WHICH CAN ACCEPT LOTS OF BOOSTING.
