What is the status of the impala going to be for 09?? Just wanted to know if anybody does because my wife gave me the go ahead to get a new car in the spring of 09, she will be taking my 06 ss. I am seriously considering the pontiac g8, gotta have a 4 door for the kiddies. But I dont know what the impalas will be then. I have heard rumors of an rwd impala but when and where?? Well if anybody knows..........just wondering.

 

I have heard that it could be just another year of the LS4 along with the 50 year mark for this year. Also, they could jump to the new body style IE G8, but that really isnt as good of a chance for 09 as it is for 2010-2011.

Its GM... Atleast they brought the V8 back in the Impala and Monte, only to kill of the monte 2 years later

 

You'll be waiting a long time to get a new car if you're waiting for a RWD Impala. Just get a G8.

The white one is the Lumina SS wherever that's sold I forget. Old pics. This is all well and good except for the fact that GM already said the zeta platform Impala has been cancelled.

 

400+hp and rear drive? The only choice then is G8 GXP, G.P. GXP, SS? HMMMM???!!! If our GXPs are gettin into the mid 13s with 303hp is 12s next?

 

The GXP version of the G8 with the LS3 is supposed to run a 13.0 flat in the 1/4 per Pontiac. So getting in the 12's stock shouldn't be hard.

Yeah, I guess my point was that it will be at least '10 and most likely later so you were right, we will probably be waiting a LONG time to see one!!

 

Yea it sucks. We should be lucky we're even getting the Camaro and got the G8 with the new CAFE standards.

 

Yeah that white one is a Lumina SS. I've seen one on the road with a manufacturer plate here in Michigan.
