Default Thinking about upgrading

I have an 02 monte ss and
I was thinking about
upgrading to the 06-08
Ss. What all would I be gaining? Is it worth it?

If you want a newer car, 100 more hp, and the awesome V8 rumble than yea it's worth it. And the newest you could get would be an '07.

You'd be gaining a much higher car note, higher insurance (most likely), and all the GOOD things that come with the new car. Better warranty (if you get an '07), overall better car. Less LS4 mods at the moment, though...but it will come with time, we hope.

Shhh Buff you're not supposed to warn them about the higher costs, don't wanna scare anyone away.

I'm just glad my insurance just dropped by $700.

As it has been noted if you can afford it it is a good upgrade.
Make sure you add some extra gas money in the equation.
My insurance actually droped but I moved out of Philla where insurance cost sucks.

On a good note as in the Cadillac comericals "When you turn on your car does it return the favor?" well mine does it for me.

Got any mods to your 02 SS?

It's worth it, when I drive my 2000 SS, it's very docile. Not much speed, but its good stuff. Once I start up that 07 and hear that V8 rumble, OH BOY!!
Everytime I drive that thing, it's a blast!

WOW! With all the cars you ****ed up??? I find that hard to believe!

I've got the highest limits available, with $500 collision and $250 comp, plus a Escort ZX2 on the policy with no collision, and I pay about $1200 for the year. Haven't had a ticket in a few years, nor have I had an accident during that time. My less-than-stellar credit doesn't help, either, though.

I'm paying about $780 a year FULL coverage with a $250 deductible for my Impala SS.

I'm at about 1170 miles, but it's still a blast when I do drive it

I need to drive it more, but the 2000 SS is a good ride.

BTW: Both My Montes have full coverage and cost me $200 a month. Not bad for Miami.

Holy ****. I'd shop around. I'm 24 and for my Imp SS, I'm paying $1095 a year for full coverage, and I thought THAT was alot. It was all but $1700 but it just dropped now. I have a good driving record though. I had an accident involving a deer in 2005 and I got a speeding ticket out of state last summer, that's it. I couldn't imagine paying $3k a year.

And mike690003 you definitely need to drive the new one more! Although your black one does look damn good too so I'd probably have a hard time deciding.

Default Insurance woes...

Well, I think you answered your own question. At 23 you are still in the "high risk" category. Generally, your premiums should drop considerably when you turn 25...but there are other factors involved: location, deductables, yearly mileage and claims for your type of car...regardless of your stellar - or less than - driving record. Your personal driving record is usually an add-on to the generic factors and all the information is put into some sort of a formula.

Full coverage for my Impala is 590 per year. I was surprised, but not entirely. I'm twice your age, have 2 other cars and my house with the same insurance company. Strangely, my Mustang is still 750 per year, and it is 6 years old.

I cringe whenever I hear of some idiot in a Mustang causing a major accident...there go my rates.

The Monte with full coverage with glass is $882.60. Adding on the pontiac is $633.80. Total for the year $1516.40. This is LongIsland rates and I'm 27.

I'm 25, and my insurance on both cars was $163 a month before I moved (grrr!) Now it's $200, so not too bad.

BTW: Insurane companies also look at your credit score.

I Can make you a screen shot if you would like my insurance has always been low. I think its because i'm married and i have a 5 car discount.
