lol? It's not as simple as that! A tech at a muffler shop said that because the whole LS4's exhaust system is made as one piece, he can't just cut and remove the resonator, and re-weld it back in place if I don't like the sound.

Sure you can. If that tech can't make a simple change like that, then i would not take my work to that shop. I hope he didn't try and sell you a full catback after making that statement.

I have it done, just do it, and yes it is just that simple...

Go to a place that knows what they are doing.

Removing the res is no big deal. I had mine taken off a while ago, sounds fine to me, although now it seems to quiet because I'm getting used to it. Might have to fab up a custom exhaust pretty soon.

Like BuffaloSS said, if you want to be like everyone else then yeah, get a mustang. There are so many mustangs around here that these kids are doing ridiculous things to their car just to stand out. Sometimes I see 2-3 GT500s just on my way to work.

since you've decided, i guess this is for anyone else out there thinking about it.
no no no...
it's a nice looking car, decent motor, a few cute gimmicks, but.... drive one.
you have to get on your knees and turn around in your seat to get the seat belt.
there's no point in having the back seat, unless you have friends or family who are double amputees.
the front seats are like sitting on plywood...

i know all this because my brother won one about 6 months after he bought a gto.
it was nice, but we both agree that it's a car we'd ever buy (i own a 2006 grand prix gxp). both of our cars are way better than the gt...

Who was that old lady on Jay Leno? I think she is dead now but her response to questions such as this was "how the hell would I know what you should do?" Why are you asking me such a question.

My vote go with the rustang!
