I average 21-22 mpg thats about 40% highway/ 60% city driving with my foot outta it most of the time. When I drive like a maniac I still get 19.2-19.8 mpg. I run 93 octane most of the time. I bet if I took a long trip I could easily hit 30 + mpg. Typically I get a tad over 300 miles per tank. Not as good as my 01 MCSS (25-27 mpg) or 97 Geo Metro 1.3L 4 cylinder (32-35mpg) but I'm not complaining. I like this car much better than either one of those. And I made a little bit of $$$ off both of those cars.

Not to bring back the dead, but I cleaned my MAF, switched back to stock paper element and installed an Optima battery.

Went on a trip this past weekend, was getting 27 - 29 on the DIC, as opposed to 22 - 24 for the past two years.

Avg has gone up from 18.8 to 19.9

How did you clean the MAF and when you say you switched back to stock paper element, I'm assuming you mean air filter. Were you using a K&N drop in or CAI?

I average 15.8 MPG, mostly city. It sucks, but oh well.

get some of this:

take your MAF sensor off, spray it, wait a couple minutes for it to flash dry, then put it back together... done.

Same as 06 said, I got my MAF cleaner from Auto Zone. Yes it was a K&N insert, thinking the computer reset itself when the battery was out.

Either way, the car runs a lot better now.
