He's a member here, it's been thoroughly discussed.

Yup, I can't find a replacement that I would enjoy at this time so I'm keeping her. Unless someone makes me an offer but anything is for sale for a price.

GXPJAY,

What were your 60ft times and 1/8 mile time and trap speeds? I would have expected your turbo beast to break the 12 second barrier with all that hp! I know increasing hp and 1/4 times are not perfectly linear, but 505hp and only a 12.3?

Are you familiar with what the times mean? When we were at the track when these video's were done we were only at 450whp for one thing, and I am on 18" STOCK STREET TIRES. Now, I don't know about you, but getting traction on a FWD on stock 18's is a little challenging. Also, 120mph is a low to mid 11 second pass with traction so I don't think it's too shabby.

Getting dyno numbers is one thing, putting that power to the ground is a whole other ball game.

MPH doesn't necessarily mean your gunna have a great E.T.. I ran a 11.3@104 in my 72 Nova SS, 350 4 spd. W/ a 4.56 gear. So saying a 120 MPH pass is a mid 11 second pass isn't always true.

Right, you want to compare a 72 Nova to a FWD Grand Prix?

I am comparing my times to others results with the same car, It is documented MANY repeated times that the Grand Prix when you can manage a 1.7 60' time (IE Slicks) runs low 11's at ~120mph. Pretty straight forward, now I just got to do it.

GXPJay,

I hope my questions didn't come off as disparaging! I think what you've done with adding a turbo to the LS4 is kick ***. I was just expecting lower 1/4 mile times given the trap speed of 120mph. What you mention about the challenges of a FWD car makes alot of sense, which is why I was asking about your 60 ft time. This is all new territory for me, so I don't profess to be an expert...just trying to learn from you guys and how I should benchmark the results on my LS4 Fiero. I was also running with street tires, but I suppose the RWD Fiero with the weight of the engine in the back is helping my traction big time. My best 60 ft time was 1.895 and I can't imagine what my 1/4 mile time would be if I was able to reach 120mph!!

My only challenge now is working w/ Ryan to turn off whatever signal is causing my engine to shut down whenever a stomp on it and cause the tires to spin. It's not the traction control, since he turned that off. You do have me thinking about your turbo set up though! Is the company serious about continuing to make this a viable kit? Do you have pictures of the Turbo setup in your engine bay? I'm wondering if I have enough room in the Fiero to make one fit!

Sorry I was all defensive, it's just tough sometimes trying to make people understand the car is damn fast but it's hard to put it down to the ground. I have a 2 stage boost controller with 6PSI in first and I can still only go about 50% throttle, then when it shifts to second I hit the high boost switch for 12psi and then it's finally rocking down the track..oh well Slicks soon enough.

I'll take some good pics very soon of the engine bay with the new turbo in there and everything.

My best run this weekend was a 12.147 with a 1.978ish 60' this was on 17's in the front with winter tires and cable mod in the rear (render's the rear suspension useless basically solid rear end so the *** end doesn't sit down at all) I'll post some vids tomorrow, it's SO touchy I need to apply just the right amount of throttle just a tad too much and the tires just fry

I was getting consistent 2.00's and some 2.1/2.2/2.3 60' times. I ran a few 12.3's with 2.00 60's and then my last run was the 12.147 with a 1.978 so just that 0.022 better 60' gave me a .15 better time I can't imagine what slicks, 1.7 60' and WOT in first gear would give me :o

In a Fiero which must weigh WAY less then the GXP with this same setup you would be insanely fast.

Cartuning has 25 kits ready to go so yes, they are serious..lol
