Sounds stock to me. Trust us. Alot of us have done this. Removing the resonator does 0 to nothing to your car. Swap the mufflers for something cheap and remove the Res. Here's an example of my exhaust. Resonator delete, magnaflow knockoffs.

Thanks for the link. I think Magnaflows, and a removed resonator, will be the way to go if I ever decide to change to a cat-back system. But for now, I'm keeping the stock mufflers, and removing the resonator.

To clear up some misconceptions, I didn't get a Magnaflow catback. I purchased two Magnaflow knockoffs, and a 3 1/2" custom piping from a local shop, with a resonator delete, for about 90$ total.

That's not stock. It's noticeably louder than our bone stock GXP.

Interesting. May I ask why you say that since you own a MF cat-back? I'm just curious since I may be doing exhaust for this car shortly and was considering the MF cat-back.

Couldn't tell ya. That price will be determined by them. And thats assuming they will let you buy it back. Some insurances won't let you buy it back for whatever reason.

I think they're OK. And aren't they cheaper than Magnaflows? BTW, I found another video of a GXP with Flowmasters, and the resonator put back on:

I like the sound of flowmasters, on most cars, and I don't think they sound like crap, but I think they're definetly way overdone which is why I got rid of the Flowmaster cat-back on my T/A and got a Spintech.

I have stock exhaust with the resonator removed and it sounds great! There is absolutely no rasp either. I read these posts and wonder where the rasp that is spoken about is?... It is not too loud and just right for me. I even got a compliment from a cop that is sounded good. lol... I wonder if the mufflers are different on the GXP than the other V-8 W-Bodies? If you have a GXP then I say just remove the resonator and go from there. I know you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Next week I'm gonna get the res taken off my LaX Super, but leaving the stock mufflers on. As to whether the GXP's mufflers are the same as the Impala SS, Monte SS, and LaX Super's, I suspect they are, since I think they're all made at GM's Oshawa 2 plant. It'd certainly be more cost effective to use the same parts.

I agree. In case you might have missed it, here's a video of your exhaust setup:

ick....I certainly hope it sounds vastly different in person. Sounds like somebody stepped on a dying pigeon.
