Default exhaust

I have a 2007 monte carlo with a magnaflow catback and I was looking to replace the magnaflow mufflers with either the flowmaster supper 40's or 44's, I was wondering which one would sound better and which one offers more power.

I thought the super 44 is just a low profile version of the super 40. Could be wrong though.

I have the super 40's on mine.. LOVE 'EM!! sound awesome...

the super 44's are 1 inch smaller height-wise, and maybe a little louder, since they only have 2 of those deflector plates inside them, whereas the 40's have 3...

i've seen charts that flowmasters are very restrictive. switching from magnaflow to super 40s would hurt your performance.

between the stocker mufflers and the most free-flowing mufflers ever conceived by man, you are probably looking at 5-7 horses (and that is being generous), which you will not feel with the butt-o-meter. Pick what sounds good to you.

haha....I thought about it but didn't want to comment on it. You want some ammo? I got a few pieces we could go shoot...all registered out of state in Oregon because CA sucks for gun laws.

Just wondering why alot of people say that flowmasters restrict the flow of exhaust vs other mufflers, IE Magnaflow, SLP, Dynomax, etc

Paul, You had the Magnaflow on that car right?

I was going to ask you if you felt and difference between stock exhaust with flowmaster 44's vs the Magnaflow cat/back kit.

Also, did you go 2-1/4" inlet and 2.5" outlet or what for your new car?

There's alot going on in inside a flowmaster. If you ever see one cut open you'll know what I'm saying. They do have a good sound on the proper engine. Plus they are just quite possibly the loudest in general.

Yup, ive seen the cut off ones at the speed shop. What would you think is a better muffler then the 44's for sound if they are really that restrictive? I see you have the Hooker Aerochmbrs, how are they?
