Default New Mods

While getting my alarm installed today I decided to have some audio gear I'd purchased a few year ago installed as well. While the installer was pulling the car into the bay he noticed the HID's flickeriing. Upon further review he found there were no relays in-line. Lighting problem fixed, vehicle secured, & car thumps.BTW I left the factory monsoon system intact. I added a bass **** for the subs and WALA subs no subs.

When getting the alarm installed, did you have to do anywork to the Theft system already put in by GM?

Yeah they had to put two modules in to bypass the factory anti-theft system.

TAKEN STRAIGHT FROM A CAR AUDIO MAGAZINE:
A car audio power cap works by storing large amounts of electrical power which it can then deliver to power hungry components when called upon to do so. They have an advantage over typical lead acid storage batteries because they have very low internal resistance. This allows them to deliver large amounts of power (current) very quickly. Much faster than a car's charging system can deliver that same amount of current.

Car audio power amplifiers have can have very large current demands. This is dependent on the music being played through the amplifier. Typically these currents are only needed in short bursts during transient peaks (cannon shot, bass drum strike, etc.). If the amplifier tries to pull this current from the electrical system directly it may cause a drop in voltage called a sag. This sag is equivalent to a voltage drop in the system and the size of the drop depends on the resistance of the wire from the source (battery) to the amplifier.

Just wondering why some of the people with these cars go for BIG rims and HUGE audio upgrades?

I guess I am more into the performance side of things where others are more into the show side of things.

I like all aspects of owning a car and making it mine. I have a JL 5X500 at home that I've been itching to install along with a 10" W6, just need to drop the coin on the CleanSweep.

While I am not a huge fan of gigantic wheels I am a novice audiophile as well as a gearhead. Every vehicle I have ever owned going all the way back to my first car, which was a 1985 Toyota Tercel, has been upgraded with something. Since I spend a good amount of time in my vehicle I'd prefer not to have too much of a drop-off in sound quality from my home audio system to my car. If you notice I left the Monsoon system intact. The addition if the subs just enhances the overall depth of the audio system.
