Default Has this happened to anyone yet?

This morning stopping to get some breakfast.
I was playing some tunes on my Ipod using the interface on the stock head unit. I get out of the car without turnning neither the radio or the ipod off, normally the radio will turn off once you take the key out and open the door. I didnt notice if it did or not since i was in a hurry.
Come back unlock the car get in music is still playing but the head unit is off. nothing displayed as if the car was off which it was.
I turned the car on the head unit came up and music continued playing.
I tried to duplicate it right then and there but couldn't, tried again at lunch still couldn't duplicate it.

Not worried about it at all just curious to see if anyone has epirienced this.

maybe a sticky door position switch. Stuck closed so it did not know the door had been opened.

I havn't had that problem but have you had a problem when you first turn on your car and your mp3 player is still playing threw the auxiliary and it sounds VERY distorted "like extremely poor radio signal very noticeable" for the first few seconds its playing ?

I had a similar problem but it was caused by the old POS RCA cable I was using and the signal was distorted all the time not just at start up. A new radio shack cable solved it.

So, what you're saying is that the music was still coming from the speakers but the radio display had turned off? If that's the case...that's pretty weird. Even if your driver door sensor was stuck in the "closed" position, your radio & display would have stayed on when you exited.

If you're saying that just the ipod was still working, and when you started your car the speakers came back on...that's normal.

Hey Chris.
I opened the car door and the music was still coming through the speakers but the head unit was off. I even pressed the radio on off button to see if the radio will come on but it did not, the speakers did not turn off either.

Once I started the car the speakers stopped for a sec while it turned over then came back on as well as the head unit.

Very Strange.

Yeah, that is strange. No reason for that to ever happen with these radios...

hmmi got a 5 dollar radio shack cable and that solved it / wtf ? i know cheaper cables pick up distortion but you figured it would keep distorting not just start-up. Maybe something during startup is interfering that was strong enough to get threw my crap cable
anyways thx.
