Intake, exhaust, downpipe, etc. etc. Plenty of info already on performance parts, browse/search through the the other threads. That's the best place to start.

Welcome to the board.

Like 20SS07 said, doing a search will bring up ALOT of topics on Exhaust, sounds, performance parts, etc.

I also did a post where I listed all Performance parts and exhaust for these cars.

CAI's

K&N Air Charger. www.KNFilters.com Part number 63-3059
Cold Air Inductions, www.coldairinductions.com LS4 W-body CAI Box

Exhaust
Magnaflow cat/back www.magnaflow.com Part #16707
Hogan 3" downpipe with highflow cat www.Hoganperformance.com DP7

Tuners
HP Tuners, you will need a laptop. www.hptuners.com
EFI Live tuner. www.efilive.com
Vector Motorsports TCM/ECM canned tune. www.vectormotorsports.com
...............

Rocker Arms
Any LSx rocker arm will work, but most of the guys use either HS, yellow terra or Comp. All of these can be found at www.summitracing.com or just ask some of the guys with them.

Thanks guys!! I have done a little research prior to my post but i guess i was looking in the wrong places until now. I was finding that there was nothing yet for the 08's. But i see there is. Thank you all very much. This will be a good start.

Also, don't look for things specifically for the 08's. Parts for any GP GXP (05-08) will be fine. With the exception of certain tuners, they're not compatible across all years(specifically Diablosport).

No, we don't wanna get Taz banned. Besides, there are several better alternatives out there anyways so it almost seems pointless to care that much anymore.

We are specifically targetting individuals who frequently send private messages and emails through our site to members who might be shopping or asking questions to paying sponsors. These individuals are undercutting the sponsors, trying to sell parts and services privately on the the site. This is considered unwanted spam, and is not tolerated on LS1TECH.

Just reading rules... I suppose since hogan isn't a sponsor it doesnt apply, but if one of the sponsors sells that item or a similar one it might.

Taz34ss,
Which of the two CAI do you prefer? Obviously K&N is more well known but what type of experience have you had with coldairinductions.com?

How bad *** does the magnaflow sound?

Sorry for all the questions but I have never owned a V8 before nor have I owned a car worth adding this type of **** to.

I have always loved the sound of the Flows. myself, sound is a personal preferance, I don't think in this application you can actually measure the performance gains or lack there of in this actuall medium, (unless you do it on a dyno at the same time in the same temp/humidity and fuel/air%. and timming)

Last edited by 06WHITEMCSS; Jun 11, 2008 at 11:39 PM. Reason: forgot to add timming

You can also get a K&N drop in filter and remove the reducer out of the air box for less than $45.

Hey Nacho how do get away with a catless race pipe living in SoCal? Are you planning on putting the stock one back for emissions testing or do you know someone who can help you 'get around' emissions testing? I'm just asking because I want to get a DP but don't want to have an illegal setup so I may keep the stock cat but I would rather go catless. And did you get O2 simulators or did you tune out the codes with HP Tuners?

hey smartass, I see you can read what I have in my sig...

Go K&N. . There are alot of members on this board who have this and never looked back.

Now, for the CAI. If I have to start to bend items that came a certin way from the factory and bend the CAI Box, then there is something wrong with it and that goes back to CAI, not me or the car. Every car is made different and that is something they should take in mind when making a product. Bolt ons is just that, bolt it on and away you go. Not sit there and try to re design your car from factory to fix in a 200.00 box. not worth it along with the testing I have done.
