Weight reduction

I feel like having my gxp lose some weight would be a good move. anybody been trying to do this or is everybody just going for power? i figure with the fwd tranny being how it is it could be a good alternitive

Carpet alone is 50 pounds with the foam n ****. The trim in the vehicle unused seats spare tire head liner factory deadning then change out your rims for lighter carbon fiber rims or something similar.

seats, spare tire, radio, speakers, a/c, engine cover thing, dash, air bags, center console, door panels, trim, carpet, headliner, replace the rest with lighter or smaller i suppose. smaller battery smaller radiator lighter seat.

I dont know how far id go with this next would be glass then redoing the metal with fiberglass like the hood, trunk...

is this for racing or the street?

The front and rear bumper and supports weigh in at about 90lbs total. If you get into an accident your screwed anyway so might as well remove them. Back seat in the GP lower cusion is 45lbs and back cusion, seatbelts and attaching hardware is another 50lbs. So with just those your looking at 185lbs. Figure remove all the floormats, trunkmat, and fix-a-flat/airpump would be good for another 15lbs or so. Hell, now were down to 200lbs which equals roughly 20HP. I wouldn't do this for a DD, but maybe for the track outings.
