Default Yet another rocker post...sorry guys

I know everybody is getting sick of the rocker arm posts, but I said I'd put this up after I did my rocker arms. I'll make this short as possible. I put the summit racing 1.8 rockers on my car. $350.00 is a great price, they are a very nice product. Noticable difference. Didn't have to remove alternator or belt like you all said. Their instructions have you set each int/exh rocker seperate and torque em. Kind of a lengthy procedure but it works. I also added trickflow chromemoly pushrods. I e-mailed tech support at comp cams and was told to use aftermarket stronger pushrods but don't worry about springs. (Talked about that in a previous post) Here are some pics and I'm done with rocker posts for good. Its a good bang for the buck

So you have the stock springs? How many miles on them and how high do you rev it?
How many miles did you put on the set up?

I have not seen all the rocker threads so I have to ask, will the extra stress of high ratio rockers affect or shorten the life of the DOD lifters?

Hows the car feel with them? Big difference in the mid range and top end? Any loss of low end torque? How long was the install? Give us something.

If you have to apologize for posting @ redundant topic, even before you've written the body of the message, you should have held back. This could have easily been attached to whatever thread you last discussed the rocker install in. Oh well, just one more "rocker" thread to find in a search...for those that actually do search before posting. I'm slapping the phantom padLOCK on this thread at this point.

Anyway, congrats on the install. You're building a monster there. Keep up the good work.

Saying Im sorry for posting about rocker arms in not needed. BuffaloSS Im not sure, but I believe Ive read all the wright ups on rocker arms, and have yet to read a review on the Summit ones, IIRC. So no bashing someone for adding to the experience of installation and a review (I also don't remember reading your install on rockers). And to the OP, great job, again how long did this install take you, and why not do springs at the same time, I know youd need the tool and a air compressor, not sure if you have either, but woulda been the best time for it.

I'll do a Merge post for most of the information when I get time.

Or, if you want it differently, we could make a sticky since it's a popular subject and tweak the info to fit the thread. I'll leave that up to you all. Or one of the more senior guys.

Could just edit the one sticky that says what performance parts do you want developed, and put the available/future options in there.

18,445 miles on stock springs. I typically rev them to 6100 rpms max. I had about 17,300 miles on the stock set up before I added the 1.8 rockers. Shouldn't effect or shorten DoD lifter life. .1 difference not a drastic change. Increases lift about 0.033 inch.

CompG,

Increased midrange and top end. After rocker install nail it at 60. Your 60-110mph time is short. Big time difference, but I also did a tune a day after I installed my rockers. Low end didn't seem to suffer. I can fry the **** outta the tires. Worse than before. Total install time about 2 hrs with my wife to be. She makes things a lot easier. But I've been turning wrenches and building motors and some for 9+ years. Noive tech about 3-4 hrs total. Seat of the pants dyno loves it!

ucquality,

Looking typically about 8-18 more horsepower, and 10-15 ft lbs torque. Better throttle response and your pants will like it a lot!

Thanks Buff

06WhiteMCSS

About 2 hrs with help. Didn't do springs because tech support at comp cams said it was not needed and don't waste the money. Haven't had any problems or issues of valve float.

Supposedly all summit brand parts are made in the U.S.A. If thats true or not I don't know. But I've never had any problems with Summit as a company or their parts. And I've got all lot of their parts on a few cars now. Its a good bang for the buck. Wish I had some dyno numbers to put up against the more expensive rockers out there. A little put your money where your mouth is. Problem with a lotta products now a days is you pay for the name. But there still is some things that you get what you pay for. So who knows.

07MCSS

Thanks for the compliment. I haven't tracked it yet. But maybe this summer I will. Got so many projects going on and work is crazy. Hopefully I will. Rite now I just try to mess with ppl on the street, especially tampons (Oops, I mean mustangs!)

I hope this answered everyones questions. If not just pm me or post. Thanks all.
