Great runs

 

I beat a ls1 t/a from a 60mph kick. i did get the jump on him but I was still ahead when I let off at about 120. his front bumper was at my rear. little bit further and I am sure he would have passed me.

 

I ran into a 455 4 barrel 1970 Grand Prix the other day up on Telepgraph. There were two old guys in the car, they looked over at me started gunning their engine. Light changed, they hit the car and spun the tires a little. I just kind of rolled forward, waiting till I gained some traction and then nailed it.

I walked right by them before I hit 50 and just keep pulling away. We pulled over and they were cool. Both the old guys were happy to see a Grand Prix with a V8 in it, but were kind of pissed off when they found out I was a FWD 325 and had smoked their 455 RWD.

What amazed me was the guy was the guys were telling me that according to GM their car made 370 HP and 500 LB-FT Torque at crank stock, yet they ran 14 to 15 second 1/4 miles. Talk about your drive train loss!

 

Weight

 

A 70s GP runs: 3784 lbs.
My GXP runs a little over 3600.

So a lot my advantage has to be in drive train.

 

I think those hp figures were at the crank with (no accessories) like a/c, alternator, power sterring etc. ours are rated with all accessories attached. well I think that is the case. so the 370 hp is more like 330 as compared to our 303.

The big difference is their car is from 1970. That thing is probably a tank.

 

i know this is laughable, but i murdered a 98-2000 cavalier. i couldnt help it, i swear. he had a giant wing on the back of it....probably stood a good foot and a half up from the trunk and it had the pepboys flame stickers on the sides along with a sweet fartcan that i could probably park my car in. he was revving his engine at a stop light going out of town, i started laughing and punched it, left him really really quickly, got about 4 cars on him before i started to slow down at 55-60. he tried to do the looser flyby so i punched it again, leaving him another 4-5 lengths behind.....then i slowed down. he didnt look over or anything, he was up on his steering wheel like he was trying to hump it or something....

Those kind are my favorite man! Not always the most glorious kills, but hilarious.

 

And the kind of kills that get everyone from every other section of this site coming in here to talk **** haha.

 

Every single person who has ever owned a car with over 200 horsepower has killeda ricer, even if they don't admit to it.

 

I cannot find a single sole to race....not even the import guys around here want to play.

The only racing I have seen was the day I picked my car up form the dealer...some guy in a 93 turbo was riding my *** on the highway, so i let him pass, and then he cuts me off slams on the brakes and almost hit me...all while going 70.

So I punched it, had him by 2 car lengths.....but we were going 133mph....

Fastest I have ever gone in a car...lots of fun

 

Two weeks ago on the Verranzano bridge i had a guy in a new BMW 650 ci. He pulled up next to me and then he punched it for a quick burst. I waited till we came out of the toll next to each other and from a slow roll i hit then he did I had about a two car length lead and he never gained and inch on my.. i let off at 110. THat was before my tune and i assume he was going all out. My father in law has the same car.. its an 8 cyl w/ i think 340 0r 360 horse. I know they are made for top end but i still had him.. Im sure he was pretty pissed staring at the back of a $30,000 chevy

 

Oh I know I wasn't disputing the fact that it happens, it's just telling the story obviously isn't anything to brag about....unless the ricer is packing something good under the hood. But that's rare, atleast around here all the imports who can actually run are pretty much stock looking and not all riced out.

 

Man, I've killed rice from day one. Some good runs, and alot of really bad ones, I just can't imagine telling all the stories of all the races I've had, lets say 99% of them Ive won, and the others Ive lost to myself, not the rice factory. Don't get me wrong there are some awesome ricers out there I just haven't raced any of them! At least in my neck of the woods.

you know the crusader also wanted to add this tell me if I'm the only victim here: Most people who I get shyt from the most and wants to race me all the damn time are,........guess?!,.................LS Modeled Montes, Impalas, Older(00-05) Monte Carlo SS. One Question,...WHY?!? They give me the most trouble!! And of course I proceed to show them reality........do you have this issue?
