Do not waste your money on the SuperChips unit. I purchased my 08 GXP on a thursday, and had the MagnaFlow, K&N CAI, and Superchips programmer waiting at my store the next day. My disappointment began with Superchips immediately. First of all, the correct program had not been loaded into the unit. Secondly, after four tries to get the correct download into the hand held, we found that the programmer, or design engineer, had not loaded the correct program for the 08's. 45 minutes later, once the unit would communicate with the vehicle, I was let down AGAIN when I viewed my options, which someone has already listed before me. the performance gains were minimal to say the best. Shift frimness was improved at WOt, but was a bit much during normal driving. Overall had it not been for the horrific drop in gas mileage, I wouldn't have known the program was there; rather I would have just thought the trans was screwed. I returned it immediately, despite protest from my sales rep. The bad part is, I have to continue to sell a sub-par product to people, knowing full and well the "cons", all because of HORSEPOWER TV.

I already beat you to it, I own 2006 GXP and purchased superchips the tuning is poor...it does not support 160deg thermastat/fans, no support for reving past 3500RPMs in neutral.........................and the worst part is that after tuning it I went to my local dragstrip and ran a slower time than what I ran stock, my best time with SLP exhaust, K&N cai, zzp shiftkit, and superchips was 13.84@100.3mph when without the tune plus mods listed above best ran 13.65@102.8mph................make the story short this tune was not intended for Ls4s its just a marketing ploy one tune works for all............WHATEVER!!! so I returned it and got my $399.99 back and used that on Hogan DP7s.

so the HPTuners will allow you to deprogram the 3500 RPM limit in neutral?

Yep, but why do you need to need high rev's in park or neutral?

Aaaahhh come on.... you don't need to ask that question everybody here knows why, who the hell wants to put all that money/time into their cars and end up with a wimpy cheap bark I for one would love to goose on that throttle up to 6k when I'm bored, its just a part of being a car guy.

Well the moral of the story is don't waste your money on a canned sub par tune. Spend $150 more and get what you want. And remember you can tune your buddies cars' and make a couple of bucks too. I'm glad I got HP Tuners and wouldn't recommend any other tuner out there. Definitely no pre-programmed crap. (Especially without trans support....cough, cough.... DS...cough.)

Not true.

I know someone who recieved this product and put the car on a dyno and got the extra HP and TQ. I will see if he has the Dyno sheets.

I did have a chance to drive with him before and after the install of the SC program and it does make a difference.

No one said it doesn't do ANYTHING. I'm sure it does add a few extra horses. But working, and working well are two entirely different things. There are MUCH better options out there is what everyones trying to get at.

and what I a trying to tell you is that his person did gain the HP and TQ numbers posted by SC.

Also the shift points and how firm is changed big time, so the product does work. They just had to do an update on the 07-08 cars, because the Rev. lim was still hitting at 6100, and not going to the 6250 per SC>

I will again ask him for the Dyno sheets and show you guys.

I do not see anyone else making a hand held tuner for 07-08 cars that also offers TCM support. And after talking with the people at Diablosport, it does not sound like its coming any time soon.

Well in the end you can only go so far with a hand held tuner. Anyone who actually wants to get the most out of a tune should get HPtuners. Or atleast a tune from Vector they seem like the best option.

A. Not everyone has a laptop

B. Not everyone can be without their own car when you send it in the TCM & ECM to be tuned.

A. Then take it to a place to be tuned. Although IMO, if you can afford to be spending all that money on your car, you can afford a cheap laptop.

B. Valid point.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I'm not going to argue over it. If you think it's a suitable product that's fine. Personally, if I'm going to be tuned, I'm not going to cheap out on it. I'd want a tune that's actually set up to get the most out of the mods that I would have. To me if you're going to be spending money on other mods, why cheap out and throw in a generic tune in there that's not going to let you do all that much.

Just ordered a superchips tuner from here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=120410800887

Great price. I'll let you all know how it stacks up to diablosport tuners.

I really think you will like it. I brought it when the model was a 2825 and after a few rounds of updates to the tuner, it really made my car feel great.

Let us know how it goes and what your thoughts are.

Yeah I really just cannot take the soft shifting and DOD surging anymore. The soft shifts are going to tear part my clutch with all the extra power. Are you guys getting a 2nd gear chirp with this tune? If it doesn't I may need to order a shift kit too!
